In reply to: [Posts 2 Posts] [Plugin: Posts 2 Posts] bug in 1.1.3?I JUST upgraded to 1.1.4 and now get this error:
Warning: Connection types without a ‘name’ parameter are deprecated. in /home/content/56/8615756/html/wp-content/plugins/posts-to-posts/core/api.php on line 59
Does anyone have any thoughts on this??
Maybe I’m just an idiot, but I find the documentation to be “TERRIBLE” and I can’t figure out how to pull the event calendar listings onto the home page. Has anyone else been able to do this?
The thing I noticed about 1.6.5 is that it jacked with the core functionality (at least on my site) in conjunction with other popular plugins. For whatever reason when I was running 1.6.5 I could not go to Posts or Pages and view/edit/delete them since they did not show up in the list. I could see the number count of each section but that was it. I’d disable EC and WA-LA they would appear. I was running PageMesh too, but disabling those plugins did nothing. But when I disabled EC then I could see the Posts/Pages. I don’t know what was going on there, perhaps EC wasn’t playing nicely with other plugins or something. I’ve used EC 1.6.5 LOTS of times and never had this issue, but when I started using it with other plugins then all hell would break loose. Now with 2.1 that issue went away, so it definitely had to be something with how 1.6.5 was written.
So I’m happy to see that issue get corrected, NOT happy AT ALL with the length of time for documentation to be presented though! I just need to pull the posts to the front page of the site, then I’m done with that portion of things. The developers need to do a better job at delivering on the goods when they say they are going to deliver. Sounds a little too much like the cable company ??
They shouldn’t just update by themselves, you have to “normally” tell it to update. I’d recommend the wp-db manager plugin as it’s a life saver. Maybe you can speak to your host about a backup? either way you *should* always back up your data before any updates. i’m sorry to hear you lost everything, but sometimes that’s the only way we learn…the hard way…trust me I’ve been there before!
did that work out for you then? if not, i’d revert to a backup and go from there…
I’d restore your backup, hopefully you made one!, and just use the older version. I didn’t have problems with my update at all, just need documentation to get posts on the home page. But from what I read this update isn’t as cut and dry for everyone.
I didn’t lose any of my posts after I migrating the data, did you do that first?
Signed up for the newsletter, looking forward to finally seeing how to integrate 2.0 ??
Is there an email update we can receive about the documentation? I’d rather not have to come back to the Support Forum posts or your website to see if there is any documentation yet. Like I said before, I think even having some BASIC documentation up would be a HUGE help!
Thanks Shane!

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] The Events Calendar 2.0 is LIVEHi Shane,
I can understand where you guys are coming from. I didn’t mean to be “too” upset with you either. I just know that a LOT of people use your plugin and love it! All I’m looking at doing is being able to pull in the events to the home page. I was pulling the latest 5 events through the appropriate category. If you guys could put up some basic documentation I think that would be a big help.
I guess I’m just getting too used to Expression Engine plugin support (as they have AWESOME documentation) so when you didn’t really have any here it was a bit of a letdown.
Anyway, if you can’t provide some basic documentation, maybe you can at least instruct us how to pull in the events, where we need them, or give us a date when the docs will be up.
Thanks for the reply…
Mark

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] The Events Calendar 2.0 is LIVEI think it’s very unprofessional to launch a new plugin without also giving all of your developers some documentation on how to use the new 2.0 like we did with 1.6.5. Telling them to look in the template-tags.php file is not acceptable. I’ve been using your plugin for 6 years now and even some basic information would be nice. Before I could simply pull a specific number of events directly to my home page, now I must dig through your PHP to find it? Not cool!

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] The Events Calendar 2.0 [Announcement]Is this new update going to fix this issue I’m having:
For whatever reason when the Event Calendar is activated I can’t see the Page/Post listings. I have PageMash installed too and can still get to the Pages I need to edit.
Also Event Calendar breaks the built-in search!
I like EC and have been using it for over 6 years and never seen issues like this before. I have disabled all the other plugins I’m using and know that it’s EC that’s causing these issues. Do you have a BETA version available so I can see if this will fix these issues? If not then I’m going to have to have my client go with another Calendar.
Hopefully the new EC will fix these annoying issues ??

In reply to: Hacked?????Glad you found this post ?? I did email their Support Team about this and they were aware of it and I don’t think you have to worry about it too much since it’s on their servers.
I would just make sure that you have all of your bases covered as it talks about here:
