I think there are a number of issues. In a nutshell, your primary content area, side content section, and margins are collectively too wide to fit into the area provided. How did you add the side content?

You can really go any way that you want here. The easiest way might be with either Posts or even Custom Post Types if you’re familiar with them and plan to use custom data/layouts for your tutorials. The main difference between pages and posts is that you can categorize posts and pages can be hierarchical. Posts also typically display meta data whereas pages don’t. This means that readers will see and search engines will display when a post was published. To answer your question, though, I’d go with categorized posts or custom post types over pages and sub-pages.
