In reply to: [AMP] Relaod once AMP pagesHi Milind
The reason why I need this script is that I’m using another Plugin, AMP Enacher, to show a POPUP (a newsletter registration form) when user open a post from our site.
I found that POPUP is shown but conflicting with Cookie acceptance POPUP and I opened a ticket to AMP Encher support (the ticket is here)
With the latest release 1.0.43 they fixed but, after user acceptance of cookies, the popup is not appearing if user doesn’t refresh the page or move to another page.
You can try by yourself opening a post from magazine.lorenzovinci.it as this one for example (open in a private connection).
So I didn’t have too many options now besides the code you sent me, but unfortunately, this script, as Weston wrote, is not working.
Do you have any other suggestions?

I added the “page view” trigger to AMP container too, but still, Analytics shows same results as before. I’m wondering if AMP triggers are transmitting all views correctly. Furthermore, how can I check by tag assistant if TAG GTM-NKDQXZV is active in AMP?
For instance, when I use my on my laptop
https://tagassistant.google.com/ then
I open a window with this URL
https://magazine.lorenzovinci.it/?gtm_debug=x&=1
I cannot see the AMP container, but always the desktop one: GTM-5KZ7M6NRegards

In reply to: [AMP] Google Analyitics not firingHi
I found that the AMP containter GTM-5KZ7M6N has same TAGs as GTM-5KZ7M6N, the only difference is that we do not have triggers defined, but we have triggers inside the TAG.
See attached screens.(eventually, I can provide you access to my Tag-manager containers)

I found the solution. The error was because I didn’t have admin rights of that TAG, so now I linked all TAGs e deactivated the old plugin.
Can you verify if this new setup is now ok for you as well?
Many thanks for your help.

In reply to: [AMP] Google Analyitics not firingHi James
In the end, I installed Google site Kit, but unfortunately, TAG manager cannot be linked. I am getting a screen like in this screenshot with this message:
“It seems that you are using Google Analytics. Your Analytics property UA-41335607-5 is already set up in your Google Tag Manager configuration, so Site Kit will switch to using Google Tag Manager for Analytics”
The button at the end of the page is GRAY and I cannot press it to continue and complete the process.
What can I do now?

for point 3)
As I said in the 1st message, I’m using this AMP Tag Manager Plugin at the link:
https://gist.github.com/westonruter/2ea25735be279b88c6f0946629d0240c
and I would like to stay with it to avoid installing the Google site kit and change all configurations.
Do you suggest to replace it ?But in the end, you didn’t reply to my very last question?

thanks for your reply.
So the steps, after installing Site Kit, would be
1) connect Google Search Console & Analytics.
2) then do I need to connect GTM too ?
3) and if yes, shall I remove the AMP Tag Manager Plugin? Finally, do I still need a different GTM container for AMP as it is currently suggested by this article?, so that at the end can I keep just the same Container for desktop and AMP pages, that is GTM-5KZ7M6N?

In reply to: [AMP] Google Search console errorsHi James,
you are right, I found that these archive pages are coming from my previous theme.
When I switched to NEVE, first I did it by changing only mobile (AMP in reader mode) then, after 3 mounths, I completed migration by changing desktop theme too (AMP in transitional mode now).
But, at the end all desktop pages went away, while these AMP pages remain in Google Search console with server error 5xx.
I suspect that these may be cached in AMP Google cache, but I am sure how to clear all of them.
Moreover, I tried to use 301 Redirect on a couple of them, but it seems that 5xx server errors occur before redirect. On other side I don’t know why they go ultimately always to home page, instead of going to 404 error page as page doesn’t exist.
Do you have any idea on how to clear out these 5xx errors?
Regards
Enrico
PS: via Google Tag assistant, I see that I transmitting both UA- of my site, see attached screen shot.

In reply to: [AMP] Google Search console errorsHi James
actually, all these URLs that starts with:
https://magazine.lorenzovinci.it/page/….
and have a number and the end, i.e:
https://magazine.lorenzovinci.it/page/175 or https://magazine.lorenzovinci.it/page/123
etc..
do not exist either in AMP enabled or in AMP disabled versions. And all of them point to site homepage. So I don’t really have any idea where these URL are coming from.
The only thing is that Googlebot for smartphones found all them and they have been listed and marked by Google Search console, only with AMP extension, by a server error 5xx that is a real error because the page doesn’t exist.

In reply to: [AMP] Google Search console errorsHi James,
I reviewed again the AMP configurations as you suggested, so now we have AMP enabled in all templates, with the exception of HomePage, to keep it editable by Elementor.
Please see this screenshot:

In reply to: [AMP] Google Search console errorsHi James,
I have all AMP templates enabled with the exception of pages as I have home page developed via Elementor, that is not compatible with AMP.
But this should not be really a problem, as I have only a dozen of pages while my blog hosts more than 3.000 articles.
Regarding TAG manager, we installed a separate container for AMP pages via the AMP Google TAG Manager plugin:
https://gist.github.com/westonruter/2ea25735be279b88c6f0946629d0240c
The container is: GTM-NKDQXZV
While the standard container is: GTM-5KZ7M6N.Then I filled up the form where you can find more details on my overall WP configuration.

In reply to: [AMP] Java script in AMPHi
I tested this plugin and it seems to be fine. I created an HTML form, without Javascript, and it works.
The only thing is that is not responsive, as on mobiles the popup window goes out of the mobile display.
I will try to change CSS and see if it can go and fit on mobile screens too.
Many thanks again for your support.

In reply to: [AMP] Java script in AMPHi
thanks for your reply. Actually, the solution suggested by amp-script needs some effort on programming and I’m not sure if I have the knowledge to make it.
The solution with newspack-popups cannot work in my current setup, because it requires either the newspack theme or some other plugin, such as Gutemberg, that I’m not currently using.
Do you know if there is any other plugin that creates popup’s in AMP environment?

In reply to: [AMP] AMP theme / templateHi
I tried both methods and all of them are working fine
1) for ASTRA theme, the “APM: True” flag that unfortunately requires the need to create a child theme. On this method I have been struggling with functions.php code. I’m not too familiar with PHP so I just copied a sample file and use it, but I’m not sure about final results.
2) with snipped code suggested by Weston, ,it’s simpler but again I had to look where to insert it. At the end I used this plugin https://it.www.ads-software.com/plugins/code-snippets/, then it works perfectly.
3) then I installed Neve theme and I found that is already configured in the right way, so it shows up automatically after installation in the reading themes list. Finally, I noticed that both themes configuration is limited as, when you configure AMP options, many of them are locked because their dependencies from main configuration, so you can change it only within desktop/normal panel. Hopefully, theme developers will find some way to make it better.
Anyhow many thanks to all for your help.

In reply to: [AMP] AMP theme / templateHi James
many thanks for your replay.
Actually I need to stay in reader mode because of incompatibility of my current theme. Then, it will take a while to change it and move the site to a new AMP compatible theme.
I installed one theme from that page (Yosemite) but again this is not available in the AMP theme selection, so that I cannot you use it.
Do you know if there is any way to install a theme and use it only within AMP pages ?
