In reply to: [Hueman] Page Title Issue with the new versionA few more concerns though.
Shouldn’t there be an update notification for the newer version of the theme in the wordpress admin?
The pages don’t have any <h1> tag! The page titles are wrapped in <h2> tag which is a huge SEO issue. The blog posts though have the titles with proper <h1> tags. See example page here https://demo.alxmedia.se/hueman/demo/shortcodes/
This would create SEO issues with websites like mine with several pages.

In reply to: [Hueman] Page Title Issue with the new versionLooks like the issue is with wordpress version 4.0.1.
I updated my wordpress installation to version 4.1.2 and the issue is fixed.

In reply to: [Hueman] Page Title Issue with the new versionI think there’s still confusion. So I will try to explain it one more time.
I was using Hueman theme version 1.5.5 before updating it to the latest version 2.2.2. As soon as I updated the theme, all my pages were missing meta title and description tags. I didn’t change any setting in the Yoast SEO plugin. The Force Rewrite option was unchecked before I updated the theme. And everything was working as intended before I updated the theme.
After the theme upgrade to 2.2.2, I need to select Force Rewrite Titles option in the Yoast SEO plugin to bring back the missing meta tags.

In reply to: [Hueman] Page Title Issue with the new versionSorry for the confusion. I was talking about title meta tag <title></title> that is displayed in the browser.
With version 2.2.2, I need to force rewrite titles to show them in the head section of the HTML. Otherwise, there are no meta title and description tags. I am using a business directory plugin which require Force Rewrite Titles to be off to work. But if I turn Force Rewrite Off, all my page and blog titles are lost.
Currently I have force rewrite settings on in the plugin. Therefore the directory pages are missing title and description tags. See here https://www.environmentabout.com/green-directory
The issue does not occur if I switch to any other theme. So I believe there is something wrong with the latest version specific to title tags.
I hope this clears the situation now.

In reply to: [Hueman] Page Title Issue with the new versionHi bdbrown,
As I said before, this issue is with the latest version of the theme 2.2.2. I was also running on version 1.5.5 before and didn’t have any page title issues. As soon as I updated the theme to the latest version (2.2.2), page titles are missing if Force Rewrite option is not selected in WordPress SEO plugin.
The website is https://www.environmentabout.com
I think my theme is causing the issues. I am using Hueman WordPress theme. Switching the theme solves the page title issues. So I have added a support thread in the theme support page. Page titles in the theme does not work without Force Rewrite Settings enabled.

In reply to: [Hueman] Page Title Issue with the new versionAlso, can you provide the breadcrumb functionality in the theme in your next release? WordPress SEO Plugin’s built in breadcrumbs would also work.
Thanks. But that did not help with our installation. Disabling force rewrite setting does not make any difference. Would request plugin author to suggest a fix.
@vincepettit how did you solve the title issue. Our directory pages also missing the title and description tags. Recently upgraded from version 1.0 to version 3.6.3 and since then the page meta tags are lost.
@businessdirectoryplugin please help with the fix
I used SEO ultimate plugin in the end but I stopped working on my buddypress site so don’t exactly remember if it all solved my issues but it was certainly better than SEO plugin by Yoast.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] [Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] 1.2.8.1 breaks adminI updated my wordpress SEO plugin today to 1.2.8.4 and have been experiencing issues in wordpress admin. The dropdowns are not working, plugin’s “Titles and Meta” options are not loading etc.
The frontend seems to be working Ok.. The titles and descriptions in my post pages are displaying as they were before updating. Only admin panel is messed up.
IS there a way to roll back to previous version 1.2.7.x
I have database back up file. How can I go back to previous version of this plugin?
WordPress Version: 3.2.1
Yoast Plugin: 1.2.8.4
website: https://www.environmentabout.comAs far as my experience with Yoast wordpress seo plugin goes, unless your page title isn’t
<title><?php wp_title(''); ?></title>
, you will definitely have problem with rewriting. I even had to drop my earlier development of forum due to this issue.I had contacted Yoast in this regards but only got straight answer that nothing can be done for page rewriting issues unless a new version is released addressing the rewrites.
So I am looking at other options. I don’t find current buddypress titles that bad. The only thing I want to do is to add meta descriptions to pages and meta tags to home page only. Rest is fine with buddypress.
@mdpane are you using All in one SEO pack with buddypress??
Bump!!
Same problem here. The plugin doesn’t seems to be capable of auto generation.
