I originally had the wp-content folder ACL’ed for read/modify to the IUSR group and that worked fine.
However, setting the IUSR group to read/modify to the root folder of my wordpress setup didn’t work.
I ended up ACL’d the root folder to full control for the identity of the application pool (that is the account that runs php-cgi.exe).
    That did the trick.

I get four “PASS” and a nice note “This site is able to apply these updates automatically. Cool!”.

In my setup I’m not using version control nor FTP upgrades.

I tried “Update Now” and it hang, so I fiddled with filesystem permissions and I was finally able to update.

Since then, still nothing is automatically happening.

Any idea what can I check?
    How is autoupdate happening?

    Thank you.
