In reply to: [Enable Media Replace] Image is not replaced when it’s a background imageI just contacted Divi support here is their response:
`We do recommend occasionally clearing the caches to make sure that the latest changes on the site are reflected on the site.
Caches are stored versions of your site to enhance the loading speed. These stored versions are fetched by the browser automatically instead of reloading the whole site again causing more delay on the loading speed. However, it is recommended to clear these caches (Static File CSS File Generation in Theme Options, caching plugin, and server-side caches) once in a while especially during theme updates to make sure that it is the latest version of your site that is being saved on those caches.`I answered:
The problem is that in this case it is static CSS. So I don’t understand why this acts on the cache of an image. Isn’t that just CSS?
And they answered:
I can actually replicate the issue on my end, I added this issue to our tracker so our development team can investigate. Unfortunately, there is no ETA on a solution that I can provide at this time. Though I can assure you that issues are addressed as quickly as possible based on our development team’s current workload and the severity of the issue when compared to the severity of other open issues.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience that this has caused your site. Here, in my case I will deactivate this Divi option until the problem is solved on their side.
Thank you @sixaxis ??
Good day to you!

In reply to: [Enable Media Replace] Image is not replaced when it’s a background imageJust a small precision, when I say:
Now I have 2 questions:
– Why does the link https://www.cdg76.fr/test/?nocache always show only one image if it is indeed a cache problem? (I voluntarily left “the bug” in the page)The link only works for a few hours with only one image, then we can see the 2 images. I imagine that static CSS files self empty after a while. But I assure you that the link https://www.cdg76.fr/test/?nocache only displayed one image.

In reply to: [Enable Media Replace] Image is not replaced when it’s a background imageI found the solution !
When I disabled all the plugins and deleted all the additional code I added, the problem still occurred.
I then had the idea of ??activating Divi’s “safe mode”. That restores the original configuration. And miraculously, it works!
My problem was not solved so far because I had to find the cause of the problem.
In fact, Divi has an option that allows the generation of static CSS files. Simply empty the cache, or disable this option. Here you can see the screenshot of the option : https://www.cdg76.fr/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Capture1.jpg
Now I have 2 questions:
– Why does the link https://www.cdg76.fr/test/?nocache always show only one image if it is indeed a cache problem? (I voluntarily left “the bug” in the page)– Do I have to deactivate this option of Divi to no longer have any problem or is it possible to make a “fix” to the plugin? (because it’s not really a caching problem but a static CSS problem. Maybe “static CSS” and “cache” are not the same thing, I don’t really know much about it ?? )
Thank you for your reply !

In reply to: [Enable Media Replace] Image is not replaced when it’s a background imageSorry for the late reply but I was on vacation. Thank you for your reply ??
Indeed on the page https://www.cdg76.fr/test there was 2 images. It’s very weird but I think it’s because of some mishandling on my part. Normally, now you should see a single image “test 7” when there should be 2
Let me explain: When I modify an image, as I told you, it works once out of 2 surroundings. But when I go back to the “visual builder” with Divi and save the page, everything works again. Rather than a long explanation, I made a short video that explains it all very well : https://www.cdg76.fr/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/test-enable-media-replace.mp4
As you can see, I also tried your “cache killer” trick with the link https://www.cdg76.fr/test/?nocache but it didn’t work. So maybe it’s not a cache problem.
I continue to investigate on my side to find the solution.
I really hope, and find the solution to my problem ??

In reply to: [Enable Media Replace] Image is not replaced when it’s a background imageSo, here are 3 screenshots if you want to reproduce the error (I have a French version, I translated some terms on the images):
– Here you have the settings of the top image (which does not work):
https://www.cdg76.fr/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/backoffice-divi-1.jpg– There you have the settings for the bottom image (which works):
https://www.cdg76.fr/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/backoffice-divi-2.jpg– And finally, here is what happens on the user side:
https://www.cdg76.fr/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/divi-3.jpgFor information, here is the link of the page where the error occurs:
https://www.cdg76.fr/test/I’ve found that about half the time, image replacement works fine. It’s really very strange
Thank you for your help

In reply to: [Enable Media Replace] Image is not replaced when it’s a background imageFor me the screenshots works. It doesn’t matter, I’ll host them directly on my website. The page I need help with: https://www.cdg76.fr/test/
And here is my first post with the new links:
Hello,
I have been using this plugin for some time and realized that the images were not replaced when it comes to a background image with the Divi theme.
Let me explain. I did several tests and here are the results of my tests:
– I created a test page and inserted the “test1.jpg” image twice. The top image is a background image. The bottom image is a “classic” image on a web page. Here is the screenshot: https://www.cdg76.fr/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/1.jpg
– Now I decide to change the image “test1.jpg” to “test2.jpg”. I use the “Replace the file, use new file name and update all links” option. Here is the screenshot: https://www.cdg76.fr/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/2.jpg
– Here is now the result of the page: https://www.cdg76.fr/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/3.jpg
The top image (the background image) has disappeared, and the bottom image has been changed to the new “test2.jpg”– Now, when we look at the source code of the page, we see that the link of the top image (the background image) has not changed, it is still the old link of the old image: https://www.cdg76.fr/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/4.jpg
– And here is the link of the bottom image: https://www.cdg76.fr/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/5.jpg
The link has changed and it has become “test2.jpg”As I said at the beginning, I use Divi Theme so I don’t know if the problem happens when we replace a background image and we don’t use Divi.
Thank you very much for your answer because I find the plugin really useful ??

In reply to: [Enable Media Replace] Image is not replaced when it’s a background imageThank you for your reply
I read this article: https://shortpixel.com/knowledge-base/article/158-in-enable-media-replace-the-image-isnt-replaced-why
It is none of these issues because:
– When I add “?random” at the end of the link of my image, it is the same image”
– I don’t have css optimization software
– I don’t have any caching software installed on the site
– When I empty the browser cache or when I use another browser without any cache, the problem is the same.I think that the problem does not come from caching because as I said above, the link has not been modified when looking at the source code of the page (https://www.cdg76.fr/test). It is still the old link of the first image (https://www.cdg76.fr/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/test1.jpg) while it must be the new link which must be registered instead (https://www.cdg76.fr/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/test2.jpg)
Finally, I tried to uninstall all the plugins leaving it only “enable media replace” the problem remains the same by doing the whole image replacement procedure again.
If you have another solution?
Has anyone ever had this problem using Divi and putting the image in the background of a “row”?Thank you ??

In reply to: [Relevanssi - A Better Search] User searchesThank you for your reply.
The problem is, it’s not a URL or a “singular” word. These are conventional words but which normally cannot really appear on my site. (but it is still possible that they appear there :))It is as if on a car sales site, we found the words “wood”. Normally, the word “wood” should not be found, except in some special case, for example, a wooden car dashboard. So I don’t know if I should block these words …
But I guess there is no other solution?
(sorry for the late response :))”

In reply to: [Enable Media Replace] Replace a file with the same nameThank you for your reply.
Ok I understand that the problem does not come from the plugin, but, is there a way (a script?) that would force the browser to download the latest version of the file ? It is very annoying for the users of my site because they do not always have the latest version of the file.
Thank you ! ??
