Hey Meredith! Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Yes, I did hear back from ProPhoto and they were able to solve the problem. Here was the reply:

Hi! This is Benjamin from ProPhoto. Sorry about the problems you are experiencing. What happened was that WordPress 4.1 released some CSS changes to files we were depending on for the display of those buttons in the uploader popup. We have since released a patch would should fix the issue for you. Follow the steps to trigger and update here.

Thanks for getting back to me about this. I have entered this code onto the Custom CSS page, and changed the max-height value to 550px, then 800px and then 1200px, but I’m still getting the same results. Do I need to change it to a higher value, or did I misunderstand your instructions?

I figure this out! Turns out the plug-in, Maintenance, was affecting the formatting of my pages and posts, even when I wasn’t in maintenance mode. I have now deactivated it, and all is fine ??

Thanks for looking into this for me! I have figured it out – thanks to your help! Your mention of a plugin possibly affecting the formatting got me looking at what I had installed…

and it turns out that the plug-in I used while doing the initial design of the site, Maintenance, was affecting the formatting. I’ve deactivated it, and now all is well!

Right – of course! thank you. Problem solved.

At first I updated the customtheme/style.css via TextWrangler and Filezille. Now I’ve gone on the backend of my WordPress, to Appearance>Editor and added the code directly to the bottom of the style.css here. Still no change. Not sure what I’m doing wrong? thanks for your help.

Thanks for the reply. I added the above code to the bottom of my css stylesheet for my child theme, and it didn’t seem to change anything. Am I putting it in the right spot? thanks for your help!
