In reply to: How to change Tag placement on Post?I am using the theme Bwd 1 1.10
I found the below code in the postInfo.php file. I tried switching the bolded part, below the other and that just changed the placement of the edit the post link. Any suggestions.
<?php the_tags( ‘<li class=”postTags”><span>Tags:</span> ‘, ‘, ‘, ”); ?>
<?php edit_post_link(‘(edit this)’, ‘<li class=”editInfo”>’, ”); ?>Forum: Everything else WordPress
In reply to: A Second Call to ban MaxBlogPress pluginsIt looks like your right about it getting removed. Is it safe to keep using it though or should I remove it?
Hi, Bobby Ning, thanks for letting me know about this. I still haven’t had to give away my email address for the MBP pinging plugin though.
This makes me concerned thought,
track plugin installs by IP and/or domain name via his plugin registration callback mechanism.
I didn’t know pluggin writers can see who downloads the product. Can you give me more information on this? Also, is this true for themes too.
Thanks

In reply to: Should Tags be before a post or after?Thats what I was thinking. My theme has the tags before the post, but I like the overall theme. Is there anyway to change the tags to be placed after the post?

In reply to: Need Help Editing my Blog Pagegestroud, what I did on my blog, is this incorrect coding at all?
By the way, thanks for letting me know about these pluggins.
-EricHey thanks for both of your information. I am still trying to understand the blogging thing and if problems arise this often or not. Knowledge is key.
othellobloke, my blog is https://www.glassetchingsecrets.com/blog/
I got some things fixed by removing some pluggins that weren’t allowing people to comment on my blog at all. It said something like “error”.
Now the blog just won’t schedule a future post at all after I downloaded 2.9. What is the reason for this? Is there anyway to go back to the previous version, because I depend on the schedule post feature alot.
Thanks
I understand that but its so frequent and causes so many problems. I wish I didn’t upgrade to the new version. Its all the plugins that aren’t compatable with the new version, so its more work and researching to do to keep things working correctly.
What do you usually do when there is a new version and have a bunch of plugins? I am curious as I am new to blogging.

In reply to: Need Help Editing my Blog PagePaintguy, I think I know what your trying to do. I have one like this here: https://www.glassetchingsecrets.com/blog Basically I changed the link code in the Editor of my header.php templete.
1. Go to Appearences
2. GO to Editor to edit your current theme
3. Click on the Header templete (header.php) on the right. Thats were mine was at least.
4. Then look for the word Home in the code and change it to the URL you want.
5. Save at the bottom.I hope that helps, thats how I did it, but if anyone has any differnt way to do it, let me know.

In reply to: google blog pingingOk so I guess noone really knows, but I checked around and found that the sitemap pluggin does ping google. So I would guess, after a post is made, it would get double pingged. At least I think, so I unchecked the notify Google section.
Let me know what you think.

In reply to: google blog pingingThere is one thing that Mothersh1p asked that wasn’t exactly answered below
We do have xml sitemaps plug in installed and this re-writes the sitemap after every post and notifies google, yahoo, bing etc automatically – is this counted as a ‘ping’ or is that a separate thing?
I also have a xml sitemaps pluggin (XML Sitemap Generator for WordPress 3.2.2) that writes a sitemap and notifies the search engines automatically.
Would this be considered spamming if this pluggin notifies Google that a post has been made at the same time my Update Services pings Google?
Google Blog Search hasn’t been including my blog posts, so could that be the result of my blog posts not being included?
In the XML Sitemap Generator for WordPress 3.2.2 pluggin, you can remove the options of updating the search engines of your sitemap. Should I remove the options?
I appreciate any answer or what you think. Thanks
Hey Deeplipk, I am kind of new to wordpress. So if a new version of wordpress comes out, would it be best not to upgrade to ensure that any problems will occur with our plugins.
Because I have the MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizerand it says its only Compatible up to: 2.8
My wordpress dashboard says the new version 2.9 is ready for updated. Should I not update to this version or do you know if the plugin is compatiable with 2.9?
What do you mean email requirement? I can go to their site and download it without submiting my email.
