@numewplucian, I suspect that the vast majority of people who have the coding skills to work on the block editor, etc., are not “literary” types who pay attention to things like indented paragraphs; and that the vast majority of “literary” types are people like me, who have zero coding skills. Hopefully these requests will make their way to the top of the “to do” list, eventually.

@threadi Do you know if this change is included in the new Block Editor for WP 6.2?

I tried to check, but I couldn’t tell.

It appears that there are three on-going discussions of this issue on GitHub, all since Dec 2021.

@tziptkeh I, too, am unsure how software development is driven at WordPress. Clearly, those of us who see the value and importance of indenting to indicate a new paragraph are a small minority of the WordPress community.

Unfortunately, none of the solutions proposed is practicable with high school and middle school students.

From what you say, it seems that this will continue to be a problem until someone comes up with a theme that is specifically designed to allow for both block (unindented) and indented paragraphs, with an easy way for users to designate which kind of paragraph they want in each case.

It is always discouraging when technology determines design, instead of the other way round.

I just want to thank you for your post. I followed your instructions, and they worked perfectly.

Like you, however, I remain concerned that someone was able to install a plug-in on my site without my knowledge. I hope the WordPress folks will look into this to see what hole the hackers have exploited, and fix it asap.

This appears to be a bug in Atahualpa; the menu is there in Twenty Fourteen.

Go to your Profile and check the box at the top to de-activate the visual editor, then update your Profile at the bottom of the page.

That should allow you to see and edit your posts in the Dashboard again.

For me, this is an intermittent bug in the visual editor for which I have found no permanent solution.

OK, this turned out to be simpler than I thought.

On my other three blogs the first two fields on the automatic upgrade page—hostname and username—auto-completed correctly. On the other two, however, these fields auto-completed incorrectly, and in my haste I didn’t notice.

Doh!

But a happy ending, at least.

I tried clearing my cache in Safari; no joy.

And it’s actually been several days over which I’ve tried to upgrade, so waiting a while hasn’t worked, either.

I share server space.

Should I contact my hosting service about this?
