    ImageOmega and Ben of Kadence Themes, you rock!

    Thanks so much as this fixed the problem immediately.

    Have a stellar evening!

    Hi Matthew,

    Thank you for the response and the check in. Yes, this has been resolved. I decided to go with the theme’s slider.

    Many thanks and have a wonderful week!

    Best,
    Erin

    Hi Ben!

    Okay, so I deactivated the Easy Slider Lite plugin and am now using the theme’s slider. You’re right, it’s pretty great.

    One question – Although I deactivied the plugin, I didn’t delete the code that I had to put in when using Easy Slider Lite. Could that be problematic in the future?

    Thanks,

    Wow, and now the slider is gone completely.

    Whoever said a website is a living, breathing organism was spot on!

    This is creepy.

    So, delete the lite slider altogether and go with the theme’s slider?

    And you worked your magic once again, Kadence Themes (aka Fairy Godmother)!

    Thanks so much as my gigantuous head is no longer taking up the screen.

    (Love the name, WPyogi!)

    I think that worked. The large white space is no longer there, so thank you!

    To test it, I uploaded and embedded a brand new image. Again, the oversized pix appeared under the slider and above the page content.

    Do I have a bug? This issue isn’t happen on any other page.

    I’m going to try a back up and an updated version of WP. Maybe that will help?

    Okay, so the mystery continues.

    It has to do with my headshot image on the About page.

    At first, I deleted it altogether and the image disappeared (enter the fairy godmother). But when I went to put the image in again, both the image was appeared in the content (as it should) and an oversized version reappeared under the slider.

    I tried resizing it – nada.

    I tried a 2nd delete – nada.

    I tried a different photo altogether – now there’s a big white block.

    Help, fairy godmother of WP themes!

    Maybe I have a fairy godmother?! ?? I didn’t do a darn thing but play with font sizes on another page.

    Thanks for your help, lapsanders! Maybe you did solve the mystery after all.

    Thank you for your reply, lapsanders. Unfortunately, I don’t have a featured image here.

    I went in to edit the page, but I fear it’s something set on the page under the slider and above the page content. I could go into Editor, but I’m not sure which page of code to look at.

    Oh good lord, Ben, you are definitely going to have to do this for me. I’m scared to touch it! ??

    Kadence Themes gets a standing ovation from me today.

    Wow, thanks guys. Okay, since you seem to be speaking a language that looks like English but is “computer Greek,” I’ll take it step by step.

    1. The post was copied from Word and then inserted into the WP Paste from Word option. Strange formatting occurred. When I tried again, I still had issues. Maybe three times a charm?

    2. I think I understand what you mean about the featured image. I was trying to set the blog image as the featured image on the front page – in the slider or with the post description. Is that possible, to put an image in with the description on the home page?

    Thanks, Kadence Themes!

    Now for you, flashbuddy…Your lingo may take some time to translate. Here we go.

    1. How would one edit this in the post?
    span style=”color: #000000;”span style=”font-size: medium;"

    2. I will try the child theme. That will be new for me, but a lesson just the same. Thank you for the advice.

    3. I’m beginning to think you’re right about the ‘theming’ bit. 20/20 hindsight is always perfect, right?!

    Two thumbs up for your help! ??

    And this is what I now get when I open up my site:

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_VARIABLE in /home/erinstal/public_html/wp-content/themes/virtue/lib/custom-css.php on line 93

    No dashboard, just a white screen saying I should give up. I think this is the time that I promise never, ever to touch the coding again.

    Just let me know where to send the Christmas ham….
    Thanks!

    A follow up…

    This is what I get when I try to update:
    ]. .$primaryrgb[0].])) { $menu_margin_bottom =
    Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/erinstal/public_html/wp-content/themes/virtue/lib/custom-css.php:305) in /home/erinstal/public_html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 875

    Thanks!

    Oh my, I think one day you’re going to reach through the screen and wring my neck, Kadence Themes!

    In an effort do change the font size, I took your advice, but I couldn’t find the spot to add this. (www.erin-staley.com)

    Feeling overly confident, I changed the font-size:12 to font-size:14. Obviously that didn’t work and gave me code above the top bar. I went back in and changed the number back to 12 but I made it worse. Then I tried copying and pasting the code below, and I have new code above the top bar.

    $font_primary_menu = ‘#nav-main ul.sf-menu a {font-size:12px; font-weight:normal; line-height:20px;}’;
    }if(!empty($smof_data[‘font_secondary_menu’])) {
    $font_secondary_menu = ‘#nav-second ul.sf-menu a {font-size:’ . $smof_data[‘font_secondary_menu’][‘size’]. ‘; font-weight:’ . $smof_data[‘font_secondary_menu’][‘style’]. ‘; line-height:’ . $smof_data[‘font_secondary_menu’][‘height’]. ‘; color:’ . $smof_data[‘font_secondary_menu’][‘color’]. ‘;}’;
    } else {
    $font_secondary_menu = ‘#nav-second ul.sf-menu a {font-size:18px; font-weight:normal; line-height:22px;}’;
    }

    //Basic Styling

    And that is why you’re the professional! It worked beautifully, of course.

    Thank you!
