I have the same issue. Since I updated WordPress and MailPoet to the last versions, I get this error:
SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host. Connection failed. stream_socket_enable_crypto(): Peer certificate CN=’*.srv.cat’ did not match expected CN=’subdomain.domain.com’
I can send mails using Easy SMTP, but not using MailPoet with the same settings.

We are having the same issue since we updated to WordPress 6. In our case, our email server is not secured, but using SMTP autentication. It’s a secondary server located in a subdomain we use for sendig newsletters. We are getting the following error:
El correo electrónico no pudo se enviado:SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host. Connection failed. stream_socket_enable_crypto(): Peer certificate CN=
*.srv.cat' did not match expected CN=

In reply to: [Knews Multilingual Newsletters] I think this plugin is abandonedI’ve written to the autor, Carles Reverter, to ask him about the future of the plugin. We use it and even have a Pro licensed version for one of our customers. I’ll tell you if I guest anything.
If the project is discontinued, any recommendations for a Newsletter plugin? I’m going to test MailPoet, but I haven’t yet.
Thanks!
Problem solved today with last Avada Update (versión 6.2.1) and Patch #417606. Thanks!
I can’t edit or create any post unless I deactivate the plugin. I get a WordPress Critical error. Also using last version of Avada Theme.
