hmm the page isn’t in its own directory. but no matter i think i’ll just remove all the extra fields and create columns with a TABLE.

oh actually it was just my install. there was an error when i was updating to 3.1 but when i uploaded a fresh install manually over ftp it cleared the issue up and worked great.

install the plugin! it works great.

I’m experiencing the same problem: i set up a password-protected page but every time i enter the password and press enter it just reloads the password request.

refreshing the page doesn’t help.

i am using a custom theme, but i switched to twentyten to test and it wasn’t fixed. deactivated all my plugins without success. cleared the browser’s cache, tried both safari and firefox, tried different passwords, no luck no luck no luck.

when you talk about your WP cache, are you talking about a plugin? I don’t know where to find cache settings.

i did have luck, yes. i skipped most of the steps and went straight to backing up the site in phpmyadmin then replacing all the files (except wp-content and wp-config) with a fresh install via FTP.

some files couldn’t be directly replaced so i first deleted them before reuploading the new ones. i had to shut down my FTP client and reopen it for a refresh when files wouldn’t delete.

that worked for me. the site went back up. then updating the database is easy.

lost some functionality of my plugins, but i can deal with that later.

…or could i download the new package and replace that one file via FTP then try updating again?

the same just happened to me when trying to update to 3.1 as well. same error message:

RESOLVED. the export had a different name than the database and didn’t recognize it. just opened up the export file in a text editor and changed all the instance names and reimported it and it worked.

FIXED IT.

i uploaded the site onto a server and it worked fine.

the javascript is apparently blocked in MAMP if you have the Events Calendar plugin activated? but my server can handle both plugins concurrently. so whooo knows.
