Hi thank you so much for your response. Yes I did follow these steps exactly.

In fact I was going to attach a screencast here to illustrate the exact steps I am following — but as a last ditch effort, before doing this I rolled the site back to a previous state and oddly, now importing works again!

I can only assume that something was corrupted somewhere which prevented this operation from executing. Very strange and a big waste of many hours today. But hey as long as it works I’m not going to complain.

Thank you again for your willingness to help, and I’ll post a new thread with screencast if the issue pops up again.

Hi Thanks so much for explaining the cause of this issue. We will switch to using id attributes instead of names from now on, hopefully this will solve the problem.

Yes, we are running The Events Calendar (by Modern Tribe) Version 4.5.5, and Events Calendar Pro Version 4.4.11.1.

I’ve been working with them on this as well and they have said that since there is no visible malfunction on the page (just a database error which is only visible when using some kind of debug tool like Query Monitor), they do not feel it’s worth troubleshooting.
My worry is that it’s an indicator of a larger issue which could surface down the line.

The steps to reproduce the error (at least on our system):
1) Create a recurring event with Events Calendar Pro
2) In Events Calendar Pro settings, check the box for “Show only the first instance of each recurring event”
3) Make sure Simple LightBox plugin is enabled. (does not need to be active on the page, just enabled)
4) Install & activate Query Monitor (which will enable you to see the database error)
5) View a single instance of a recurring event (on the front end).

Does this give you the information you need?

Thank you so much for your response! It turned out to be an issue with the browser I was on. I still have no idea why, but it was fine on another machine. Could be something related to the fact that I had just freshly migrated it and maybe the domain hadn’t fully propagated or something. Who knows. It works now so never mind! ??

Fix 2 does not work for me. I was locked out of the site so I had to disable the plugin through FTP.

I am also having this problem (since our channel is not yet approved) but we definitely ARE checking the “preview” box on publish. But upon publishing the post, all content is removed from the Apple News area (including the publish box) and this error displays at the top. It seems like the settings are wiped when I publish, which is why it’s not getting that I checked the preview box. Do you have any suggestions here? I cannot get my channel approved without a draft, and I cannot create a draft with this plugin…

Yes, add_meta_box is a great “bad” example. I’m not sure what the intent of this developer resource was supposed to be, but for me, instead of pages of discussion including incorrect as well as correct examples, it would be much more useful to ONLY have correct examples given.

Yes thank you! That’s exactly what it was. In case anybody else runs into this, the other (dumber) thing I did on another site was use a different “from” email than the one verified in postmark. That also resulted in a “failed with error” message. Really wish the error was specified in admin…
