In reply to: Image Library ProblemsStill not working. I even upgraded, hoping that would help, but no luck. Any other ideas?
Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Image Library ProblemsI’m not using an ftp, I’m in the wordpress admin/dashboard trying to do them from there. And yes, I don’t see the ones used in previous posts. But I’m also unable to upload new ones, using the browser or flash uploader in the WP admin site.
I will try the settings thing. I don’t think my images need to be organized into folders for any reason.
Thanks, I’ll come back if that doesn’t help.Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Image Library ProblemsWhat’s a YTS server?
I don’t know if it’s relevant, but I have yahoo hosting. They’re not very helpful for blogging problems, because they say that they don’t support database issues.

In reply to: Image Library ProblemsUmmm, that didn’t do anything. Ugh, I’m stuck.

In reply to: Image Library ProblemsOk, apljdi, I’ll try that. Then if I can upload an image, I’ll know it’s a security problem? Then what?

In reply to: Image Library ProblemsShould I try some kind of plugin, such as JR_embed or something else to make a work-around to get images in?

In reply to: Image Library ProblemsThanks Henkholland, but that didn’t work either. But you described the problem perfectly, it just sits in the browser uploader. The flash uploader gives me a IO Error.
I added the memory definition, reactivated the cache plugin, and changed some settings that limited size of uploads…but none of those things have solved the problem.

In reply to: Image Library ProblemsBoth of those links sounded good…but I got lost along the way in each.
I ran a phpinfo script to try to find out what permissions my server was running on, but I couldn’t find it anywhere in that long doc…I found the uploads folder in my wp-content and it has permissions set to 775, and some numbers for the owner and the group ids. I want to keep my permissions at 775 so how do I find out what those owner/group numbers should be?
Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Image Library Problemshmmm, I read the whole permissions post and am not sure how that would apply. I did install it myself and I only have my user as the admin. I will look into whether my user from the previous location of the blog has the permissions and my new one doesn’t…that may be it.
But to henkholland, my problem is not that they don’t show up in the blog, they all do. The problem is that I cannot add new images to new posts. And I can’t get into the library to use images loaded there in a new post. It’s when I’m in admin.
Thanks to both of you. Anyone else have some help??? It’s still not working and I want to be able to write!!

In reply to: Lots of Trouble moving wordpressThat the info is all stored in the database…that’s what I never understood and it still boggles my mind. But I’ll trust you all!

In reply to: Lots of Trouble moving wordpressThanks! Now I can hit transfer!
Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Lots of Trouble moving wordpressOk, two questions before I do this fresh copy of WordPress. Will I lose any of my content?
And the ASCII transfer mode is concerning me. I got a message saying this
“You are currently in ASCII (text) transfer mode, but one or more of the files you are about to transfer is not in the list of known ASCII file extensions set via Transmit’s preferences.Transferring non-ASCII files in ASCII mode will cause corruption in the transferred copy of the file. Would you like to switch back to automatic mode?”
Should I still use ASCII mode?
Thank you again and again!!Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Lots of Trouble moving wordpressOk, I’ve gone into the wp_options database in phpMyAdmin and changed the URL wherever I could find it.
One more issue is still plaguing my blog. When I am now in the dashboard and click to see posts or add new the screen is blank in the middle, no posts show up. Similarly if I click Plug-ins, I get the full blank page. (so I couldn’t use the search and replace plugin!)
Anymore help available??
Thank you!!
