I actually fixed this issue on a local install.
Socialauth is based on hybridauth. I replaced the hybridauth folder in the plugin with a fresh (and presumably updated) version from the project page https://hybridauth.sourceforge.net/downloading.html
Works fine now. The maintainer should update this.
