In reply to: [Order Export & Order Import for WooCommerce] Importing ProblemIt is a managed WordPress server we’re using and haven’t had problems with it on other hosts. What possible misconfigurations on the server side could cause the issue?

In reply to: [A Simple Backend] anyone ?Thanks for the comments and the plugin is still fully alive. It is meant to be something that my team and I put together in order to make the transition from our in-house CMS to WordPress easier on our clients. Most clients found it daunting to administer a WordPress project, but also I didn’t like the idea of limiting them to an editor role. I did like the fact that the editor login stopped them from making potentially harmful changes hence the creation of A Simple Backend and releasing onto www.ads-software.com for others. I’ll take your ideas under consideration and note the plugin will be going for several years as it is also my way of giving back to the open source community.

In reply to: [Easy Twitter Feed Widget Plugin] Widget Missingi like many others fully appreciate the updates to your plugin, but the renaming the widget I don’t think was needed. That renaming removed the widget from many projects that all use automatic updates for plugins, themes, and WP core. Automated updates are becoming more and more common. I’ve already gone through about 50 projects so far and put the new widget in place at a cost to me, which is my time. Clients don’t fully understand the underpinnings as it were of WordPress and can’t grasp why someone would just change up things. So I can’t just invoice them for that time to go in and replace the widget. I really don’t understand why such a rogue update was put out when you have so many active installs that are going to be effected. The update functions great and thank you for it, but I would think you could’ve updated the API and the layout of the widget without creating a new one.
Well good news. I “think” the issues at GoDaddy have been resolved. I’ve logged into several past projects there weren’t updating before and many appearing to be updated in the past couple of days. So perhaps it has been resolved after all the fist pounding and reaching out to half a dozen people.
I’m still waiting to hear back from GoDaddy. I have pushed this matter through to 3 people, but it isn’t getting much attention. I personally feel its a big deal and should get priority especially considering the amount of sites using your plugin.
No worries! I can appreciate it completely. I had a client that had a problem with GDWP the other day and she said she’ll call WordPress to fix it herself. =)
Good day and hopefully you’ll enjoy that tidbit. I’ll report back.
As I previously said I apologize if the response seemed rude. Hosting choices weren’t the original focus of this post either. I merely responded the way I did because I felt the “need” to explain my choice as you stated it wouldn’t be your first choice of host.
Anyways, I’ll continue to work on this and report back. Ideally I would like to see GDWP support look into this issue. GDWP hosting is very locked down and doesn’t even contain error logs. All I can do at the end of the day as a consultant is to put the best solutions in place that I feel based on my professional experience are best to offer. Its hard for me at times because I do have a sysadmin and development background so I’m sure you understand my frustrations.
I feel your plugin on top of GDWP is the best option for most projects for most clients. I focus on setting up clients where they can use me or anyone for services going forward without having to start from scratch or feel lost.
Everyone wants to be as much DIY as possible these days, which I don’t agree with, but it is what it is. Thanks for your responses and time again on this matter. I do honestly appreciate your time and feel your contributions to the WordPress community should be highly praised.
I’ll give your option a shot and thanks again. I do apologize if I came across like a jerk, but I felt it needed to be said.
