Forum: Requests and Feedback
In reply to: please rate my blog and give tips.Needs…
- Static front page
- A nicer header (play around with photoshop til you get it right, its worth it!)
- Delete the page title from the header if you are making a new one…
- If you want to keep your page dynamic(not static) shorten the length of new posts.
- Work on a new design for the secfootball gear ??
- As far as the sidebars concerned, you have everything possible stuck on there. You may want to wittle it down to whats important.
Think about how you want your page to look, and then search, and ask around to figure out how to get it that way. It may take some time, but its not rediculously hard to get things working right.

In reply to: Working with Theme Fileson backup:
are you using the wordpress default? find the wordpress folder that you downloaded from the site, open it, open wp-content, then themes, and open your themes folder. all the files are located in here. I usually create a new folder inside my themes folder called edits, copy and paste the files i’m going to screw with into edits, and then upload them to the server via ftp. that way I still have the originals in case i goof up.
If its not a default theme, you should still have a folder that you downloaded for the theme, place this folder inside wp-content/themes, and your on the same page as above…
hope that wasnt too confusing ??

In reply to: 1 account for multiple users…if you were gonna do it my way, you could edit the login page to take out the registration link, and instead of sending out the master username and password to everyone just send out the registration link so that anyone who knows where to go can register…

In reply to: Sidebar = Retarted…Would it have something to do with single post.php? I dont think i edited that though… I can’t figure out any other reason why it would only do it to posts when your logged out.

In reply to: 1 account for multiple users…why don’t you allow for multiple users, and just restrict the access to post to a main account… then everyone would get their own username, and if they want to post they can still do it with the main account. Otherwise if you want to allow anyone to post, you might as well just allow them to post from their own account…
Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Working with Theme Filesyou can also do it on the backend of the site by going admin, presentation, theme editor. This gives you access to all the same files, although I like to make backups just in case…

In reply to: How do I create a page to linkt o an external URL?You can do
<a href="[URL]">[Description]</a>
and paste it into the html of whatever your trying to add it to.Ooor, you can add it to your blogroll, and do it through that… I don’t quite remember how I did that last time though.
Fortunately for you though, the first much easier… Just add the URL in place of [URL] and however you want the link to read in place of [Description]! Easy as that. Play around a little bit and you should get it.

In reply to: Sidebar = Retarted…nothing changes inside the sidebar, but i did notice, that if you go to this “test” post, theres a big background image to the right of the sidebar after its dropped down. Theres supposed to be the bg underneath the sidebar if you look at the search area, i dont know why it would have duplicated though…
thanks for the quick responses!
