In talking this over with the client, we kind of realized that a game number isn’t as important for game score submissions. That’s because all the games will be in there beforehand, so that will automatically remove the possibility of duplicate game submissions. Currently they are checking duplicate entries via game number. Still, it would be nice to have for posterity.

The way things are going now, I don’t expect there will be a baseball season for 2020. But we’d like to resolve this issue if possible so it’s ready to go next season.

Ultimately they’d like the game number to appear in BOTH the league table and the match event page. However, the complexity of adding this column may prevent the match event listing, unless anyone has a suggestion for a PHP developer that could assist with this.

I think it’s fine there, but the league definitely wants to have it displayed with each match (ex: https://www.tritbaseball.net/test789/event/team-1-vs-team-2/ ).

Right now, when game scores are submitted by each winning coach, the game number becomes important when trying to eliminate duplicate entries. We have a custom PHP solution on their current site for detecting duplicate games. Hopefully Sportspress can also do this. It doesn’t have to be by game number but as long as there’s an automatic mechanism in place to detect duplicates, that’s what they’re looking for.

Thank you! I am able to get that game number information in the event now. But it doesn’t show up in the league table, and I don’t see a way to add that in.

Is there a template that needs amended for that?
