Thanks a lot! One thing I would like to add. I had been using the ‘Youtube with Style‘ plugin before yours and it uses ToobPlayer too.. But with a bigger sized SWF (around 67 KB) that uses animation sprites for loading/buffering. All of us would prefer a smaller sized Player (yours is in the 20 KB range, which is great!) and hence would request you to cut down on anything thats not required. I guess removing the border would make the player smaller! Once again, thanks a lot ??

Thanks for the pointer Alex. Even if it was custom-made for WP, it still should be open-source. They should release it too right? I’m sick of JWPlayer and would like some alternative. Currently I’m using ToobPlayer for playing YouTube videos on my WP blog and love it, though its 67KB (plus SWFObject around 6KB). I’m a sucker for small-size and would just like to have a player that is lighter than ToobPlayer ??

Thanks for the response. I’m planning to launch my blog in a month. So I’ll be waiting for you :D. Also, check out Rob’s Similar Posts plugin (https://rmarsh.com/plugins/similar-posts/) which implements the feature I asked for.. Well.. Partially. It introduces an annoying linebreak after every comma, which pretty much defeats my entire purpose. You can see its output in the page I’ve quoted in my 1st post here!

Maybe you can find the solution for my problem in that plugin (which is HUGE by the way!). Thanks for the help!

Hey mjfiszman, I’m having the SAME problem. Tried everything from copying the wp-admin and wp-include folders, deactivating all plugins, reinstalling WP 2.5.1, refreshing, clearing the cache.. All of it. But still cannot get the Media buttons in the ‘Write Post’ page (though it appears on the ‘Write Page’ page)!

Update: The category slug for my asides is ‘notices’. So I manually edited my source to include these lines –

<?php sideblog(’notices’); ?>

Now I get a new error –

Aside category not selected.

Yeah thanks friend! Figured that out myself.. Thanks again, have fixed up everything!

WOW! Thanks a lot man.. This is what I was looking for! But I see this weird black bar beneath the footer of all pages. Is it some problem or actually part of the theme?
