Just now, I checked through the other threads in this forum, and found something helpful. I went into my wp-content/plugins folder and added a work in front of the better-wp-security file, thus breaking its hold over my login. I’ve deleted the entire plugin and replaced it with another security plugin.

I’ve deleted iTheme and am installing all-in-one also! This entire experience was so ridiculous.

Thanks very much! I do have a backup, and am going to check out the .htaccess file.

I’ve tried all of my slugs and all produce a 404 error. I’ve never tried manipulating the .htaccess file, here it goes!

Would this explain why I now get a 404 error instead of my login page? I do believe the “fix it” page recommended I do this, and I clicked on it, but I was only sent to an error page. Then I got locked out. Now I can’t get to a login page.

I can’t even login anymore. When I updated the plugin, it said my login page address was still the same, but now it gives me a 404 error. Ugh.

Yup! Me too! I can’t get into my own website. All I did was install the update, then I checked out the list of things to “fix.” I clicked on “fix it” on a couple of items and was given an error page. Then I got an email saying I was locked out. Now I can’t get back into my site!!

I am going to just disable this plugin whenever I can actually get back in to my site.

Just add the plugin Flamingo. You will be able see your messages from the WP dashboard.
