ive just checked out yak and it immediately threw an error and looks a bit horrible. i want a ajax like cart that looks cool. going to ask shopp if they do what i want.

why dont you just replace functions.php then ?
back it up first and see if thats what caused the error.
ups is shipping isnt it? > turn off all shipping as well see if that sorts it.

im no php genius but ive been hacking this for two weeks solid now.

spent ages going through the widget css file to find most of it doesnt do nothing to the widget and its all in main.css – thank god for web dev toolbar and firebug thats all i can say.

probably be quicker to backup everything deactivate and then activate again. remove all the css out of your theme and copy somewhere else, then assuming its worky with default install. start adding what you changed back until you figure out what it was. although looking at that error doesnt seem like a css error.

actually what am i saying. probably quicker to pay a few hundred and have something decent ??

or use an open source system that works and has docs.

if i was you mate i would go with something else. although wp ecommerce is supposedly ‘the most popular ecommerce plugin’ – if you look around on the web you will find people with every problem you can think of and if you look on their forums you will find each of those questions with no answer. if you then look at their docs youll find a whole bunch of conflicting information and its a complete ball ache.

im checking out yak tonight. wp ecommerce tries to come across as free but the free code doesnt work properly for downloadable products at least and they try and get you to buy the gold cart stuff. thats the idea i think. the support is awful. id check out other options. eshop, yak and about 10 others are available.

btw your problem is with ups.php – i take it you might have already paid for extra shipping options because it doesnt come with that as standard i think.

hey there, now *that* is actually a stab at answering me ! although be it quite rudely, ironically considering what you are asking.

1) ive read so much crap on wordpress the last two weeks i can hardly see. so dont tell me to RTFM.

2) im not offended, just kind of exasperated by the lack of peoples seeming ability to understand what im asking. it was just a quick light question nothing more.

3) regarding your request to be more respectful. basically i will say whatever i want, when i want, how i want, so if people deserve my respect they will get it and your requests will be ignored and are irrelevant to me, especially in the condescending way you typed them. if you noticed i thanked the people involved, but i was trying to get across that they were not understanding my question, since, i know what they do – but i dont know why they are there. and also – i dont need anyone to hold my hand – if i did id hire a developer and get them to do it. seems like you need to get off your 150ft high high horse and try and understand what people are saying.

no no no – youre not understanding. i already know what they do, i was asking ‘what are they doing there’ – there is absolutely no need for them as far as i can see. i did read it but it didnt seem to explain anything apart from ‘people get too many categories’ which explains nothing really as there is no limit on categories. ill just think what i mentioned earlier and case closed. thanks though.

guess not. if you are searching for this, id say watch out for a badly maintained / written and unsupported plug, although it does seem to work basically.

well, ive been hacking around the spectrum theme to post different cats on each page and have a front page etc. and there is heavy use of tags in it. still no idea what they are supposed to do. so, rather than fight these uniquely useless things, ive gone with the flow and embraced them. as you can see ere this is prolly NSFW. its a ‘twat cloud’ rather than a tag cloud. am i allowed to say that on here ? well i have now. anyway my code is a messy joke and its taken me a week of solid tweaking to figure out how wordpress works, not really knowing php n stuff. so yeah if anyone does figure out what a tag is for, let me know ??
