Great ideas, Paco. I really like the option of the feature video image at the top of post pages, and your suggestion, Ben of having a still from the video in that space and then the vid replacing the image within the post.

I would only add that it would be nice to be able to choose the still frame from within the video so it doesn’t default to one on its own.

Also love the idea of having a stylized pull quote. It would be great to be able to customize it or have a couple of style options if via shortcode.

My only other suggestion would be to add an enhanced slide show option. I don’t use it often but the standard WP gallery only allows a limited size of image within the slide show and leaves a bit to be desired.

Looking forward to seeing what other ideas you have in store, Ben.

Thank you, Ben. I added that in and had to make a few additional adjustments to each widget field and both button dimensions…but got it to work in the end.

I have to say overall that your theme is really flexible when it comes to making css changes. I am new at this, and have found it a pleasure to work with compared with a few other themes I’ve used (for different sites).

I was so close – missed the .widget bit before search form container. Thanks Ben – fixed most of the spacing/padding issues now.

Still can’t figure out why search submit and email submit buttons don’t line up. Also can’t figure out why I can’t change padding below entry-meta-bottom float. Promise this is the last time I bug you!

Thanks for the tips. I managed to update the opacity via style.css and add/update both the footer and content.php files.

I’ve already adjusted the padding above and below the widgets, but am stuck on the following:

a. The padding between the two widgets is still too high and I can’t figure out where it is on the style sheet.
b. I’d like the Get Email button to line up with the Go button above it and can’t seem to make it work.

1. If I want to remove the opacity (but leave in the author bit), what code from the file above should I eliminate?

2. Can I amend the above “content.php” file to include additional changes to php(adding year to date at top of each post, adding copyright info to site footer, removing some of the padding around Post page widgets at bottom) – or should I create a separate file for those items? I’ve already got a child theme uploaded with changes I made to style.css.

That seems to have worked. I’ll just have to be selective about which images to use as features since I can’t control the percentage on individual pages. Thanks again, Ben.

Ahhh, so that’s it! Fixed the image size issue (and the other changes I made now showed up, too!).

Still having trouble with the positioning of he featured image. Have tried 3 diff’t plugins – most effective is Post Thumbnails Editor, which let’s me edit both the “thumbnail” and “blog” size image. I do that, save and update post (even tried deleting and re-inserting feature image) and it reverts back to wherever it wants in the image.

Have to go in and set featured image for 5 yrs of posts, so want to get it right before I do that! Thank you for ALL of your help, Ben!

I just started using your theme – love it btw. I wanted to change the image resolution on the homepage also (as images are showing blurry there, but are clear on the subsequent post pages). I would also like to control the height of images/bars for posts on the homepage. When the page first loads the bars are narrower (which I like), then quickly revert to something much taller (you have to load the site a couple of times to see it – it happens fast).

I followed your instructions above – created child folder, added correct functions php code from thread, zipped, uploaded, activated, regenerated thumbnails – and the images were improved only slightly, but not entirely. (I tried both 1200, 800 and 1200, 600 on the functions.php file.)

It made the bars even taller and threw in a blank space equivalent to a post bar right at the top of the home page, so you had to scroll down to see the first post listing. I’ve since removed the child theme files from WP and reverted back to the original parent theme.
