Ok, so the answer is that yes that functionality exists but only in the paid version. Got it! As we are not a business, and have no revenue generated from our site, we will move on to another plugin. Thank you!

Actually no – changing that setting makes it so the gallery is the height I’ve specified in pixels but, it then appears with a scroll bar on the right to fit the images at the same size they were before I changed the setting. I just did this now if you’d like to check the site to see what I’m describing.

Thanks so much for the response! I am actually using a plugin that allows me to use folders like that which is super helpful. The thing is, I uploaded a huge library of images to each folder (I rebuilt my site from an old host so I had the content already) and then built the new galleries individually (selecting the files one by one). My goal is to find which images I’ve uploaded that I didn’t put in a gallery (so I can either delete them or put them in the right spot). I tried the “unattached” list of files but that appears to be hit or miss. I may just find a plugin that maybe can do a better job of it in the meantime. Thanks again!

I am having this same issue at ExtinctDisney.com (hosted by BlueHost). The full error is:
Thumbnail Generation Alert!
There is a problem generating thumbnails for your gallery. Please check that your hosting provider has the GD Image Library extension installed and enabled.
If thumbnails cannot be generated, then full-sized, uncropped images will be used instead. This will result in slow page load times, and thumbnails that do not look correct.

I have tried checking the “override thumbs test” with no change. I’ve cleared FooGallery cache with no change.

Thank you Anthony, that sounds good! For now I’m just using the plugin without the descriptions so I eagerly await your hot fix!

My personal desire would be to limit it by the number of lines but characters works as well. I just want to solve for the fact that some people, for whatever reason, put paragraphs of information as the description and thus, when I include it, it’s adding a bunch of unrelated text to my post/page.
