In reply to: [Autoptimize] Render-blocking resources not going awayHey Frank,
Thanks for that suggestion. Removing the jQuery has helped immensely! Mobile LCP is now jumping between 2.1s and 4.5s!
Regarding the lazyloading, I switched everything to “normal loading” via WPBakery and have the Disable Lazy Loading plugin, so things shouldn’t be lazy loading.

In reply to: [Autoptimize] Render-blocking resources not going awayI cleared the cache and the render-blocking resources have improved vastly, but Pagespeed still notes render-blocking and unused CSS and JS as issues. LCP on mobile is jumping between 4.5s and 3.3s.

In reply to: [Autoptimize] Render-blocking resources not going awayHey Frank,
Thanks for your response.
So I spoke with my hosting provider and there was a bug with my CDN which they’ve now fixed. I’ve also played around with some site settings and took up a subscription to criticalcss.com – it’s made some rules.
This has managed to improve things greatly on desktop but only a little on mobile. My LCP remains around 3.5s on mobile (1.1s on desktop) and I still have Eliminate render-blocking resources and reduce unused CSS and JS as issues.
Here’s a link to the pagespeed if it helps: https://pagespeed.web.dev/report?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.simplegamer.co.uk%2F
Any suggestions?
Appreciate all of your help!

In reply to: [Autoptimize] Autoptimize option disables Adsense from appearingThank you for your suggestions! I’ve deactivated async javascript for now, enabled lazyloading across the website, and have activated shortpixel adaptive images and that’s helped a lot for mobile speed, it’s now around 60. Will have a think about what else I can do to speed things up.Thanks again!
Once I’ve heard back from Mediavine I’ll try enabling the other options in Autoptimize and see if it causes any issues with their ads.

In reply to: [Autoptimize] Autoptimize option disables Adsense from appearingThese are the options I’ve currently got and are working with my Adsense units and hopefully Mediavine when they get back to me:

In reply to: [Autoptimize] Autoptimize option disables Adsense from appearingI’ve been checking them and they’re good! No issues now.
But since the “Aggregate all linked JS-files to have them loaded non-render blocking?” option is turned off, my pagespeed has dipped a little. On mobile from 80 when turned on to around 50 now with it off. But I guess there’s no way to address this?
I’ve also been speaking with Mediavine and moving onto their ad network, but Google was having trouble finding their script on my website after I added it. I believe this may have been caused by having the “Aggregate all linked JS-files to have them loaded non-render blocking?” option checked on at the time.
They’ve contacted Google about it and they’re trying again now that the option is set to off. I’ll let you know if anything changes there when I hear from them, but do you think that option is blocking code or something? Or could this be an issue with my theme?
Would love to have it enabled to speed up my website without causing issues with Adsense/Mediavine.

In reply to: [Autoptimize] Autoptimize option disables Adsense from appearingYeah, they don’t immediately disappear. Always takes a bit of time. Adsense doesn’t mention anything, just my earnings and impressions plummet.
For example, a quick look at my dashboard says I had 3.82K ad impressions when the “Aggregate all linked JS-files to have them loaded non-render blocking?” was off one day last week and 20 impressions yesterday when it was switched on. That’s a major difference with around the same traffic numbers.

In reply to: [Autoptimize] Autoptimize option disables Adsense from appearingHello!!
No, I didn’t. Should I enable it too?
Hey @jamesosborne!
I’ve seemingly fixed the issue after deactivating plugins and refreshing my site on different browsers.
Autoptimize was the culprit, specifically the option “Aggregate all linked JS-files to have them loaded non-render blocking?”
Once I unchecked that, the ads began to show again! One problem is, I’m worried unchecking that may affect my page speed. Do you think there’s a way of keeping that checked while keeping ads on the page?
Thanks for all of your help!
Hi @jamesosborne!
Thanks for your quick response. I use Autoptimize and Async JavaScript, could either of those plugins be causing this issue?
I’ve submitted my Site Health information too via the form you shared.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Twitter/Reddit Images Not Showing When Sharing PostHey @mazedulislamkhan. Thanks for explaining all of that. I do find the whole situation strange.
Do you think the issue is still on Twitter’s end if the validator cannot pick up the images of newly published posts? Also, I scrolled through my Twitter account earlier today and found that ALL previous tweets are missing their featured images, despite previously showing them. The only ones that do have images are those that the validator can fetch now, and that’s only three or so posts.
I hope Twitter clears this up soon!

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Twitter/Reddit Images Not Showing When Sharing PostHey Michael, thanks for your speedy reply.
My hosting has changed my robots.txt and I’ve gone through and made changes to it too (Although I’ve now reversed it back) and none of this helped, even after clearing the validator’s cache. My WordPress hosting has stressed that nothing in the robots.txt is blocking Twitter. Reddit and Facebook are now picking up images fine, it’s just Twitter that isn’t.
What’s even more curious is that these posts work when using the card validator:

https://www.simplegamer.co.uk/sphere-flying-cities-is-a-new-sci-fi-city-builder-launching-on-steam/
https://www.simplegamer.co.uk/greak-memories-of-azur-gets-nintendo-switch-exclusive-demo/
If I right-click the featured images on those posts into a new tab and run that URL through the validator, the validator is able to fetch them, which I guess is why they’re showing up. However, if I click the featured image in my post and then right-click it into a new tab, the URL is different and the validator cannot fetch them.
Here’s some examples:

Any idea why this could be happening?
Really appreciate your help!
