In reply to: Error after 2.2 installOk, well seems I got it to work, although I’m not really sure what fixed it. I moved all the theme folders except for the default folder into a folder called “all_themes” within the themes folder. Site loaded with kubrick. Strange thing is under presentation, all of the themes are available even though they’re not in the root of the “themes” folder.

In reply to: Error after 2.2 installNo. Anything I’ve tried, typing direct paths to Admin, login, etc.. does not help.

In reply to: Error after 2.2 installForgot to mention I already deleted the widget folder in the plugin folder, it didn’t help. I had already disabled widgets before the upgrade.

In reply to: Theme Switcher install helpThank you, I guess what confused me was the code that was already in the theme’s sidebar. Fixed.

In reply to: 1and1 Blog IssuesYa, get away from 1and1. I had them for a week a while back before I knew squat about what service to get. They are only for the very basic of basic users. The main issue with them, aside from HORRIBLE customer support is you don’t have any access to your files aside from their rinky dink control panel, which allows you nothing. I would recommend hostgator, which I use, or bluehost. Both have fantastico and all of the other goodies you’ll need.
Again, get away from 1and1…the only GOOD thing with them, for me, was they were super fast at my location. THAT’S IT.

Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Blix and spacing issue..see imageI’m sure I have to change some code, I’m just not sure what. To better explain, I have removed one page, see here: https://thefabhouse.com/images/blix_space2.gif . When there is not enough room to fill the whole bar, the links align left instead of justifying to the entire width..this is what I want to do. Any suggestions?

In reply to: Looking for a way to convert PDF file into a postThanks, but I said I was looking for a plugin to put a PDF file into a post, not get a PDF file from a post. I have nearly fifty PDF file of which I need to, display somehow, in WP posts. The reason I’m looking for such a plugin is so I don’t have to ( now and future) copy or convert PDF to text, reformat and past into a normal WP post.

In reply to: Opera and Blix incorrect displayI checked all of that, it’s good. If I view the page at 90% (view->zoom) it displays fine. I still can’t figure out what the problem is with opera that it can’t display the width of the page correctly.

In reply to: Lightbox…need helpThanks
Forum: Plugins
In reply to: Lightbox…need helpWhen an image is clicked, it opens…dark background, polaroid looking image as it should, but there is not prev or next and there is no transition, it just opens and closes. The plugin that I installed from jei.afraid is different from the one at huddletogether. there are way more files in the latter.
So..it seems the wp plugin is way lighter than what is offered at the huddletogether site. I’m no pro, this is why I’m asking what likely seems to be a silly question. The wp plugin seems to be the necessary js files to get the basic effect of the lightbox and the other seems to be more of a “full” version. Without playing for hours and guessing, I’m just not all that sure of how to get the one from huddletogether setup as I prefer the way that one works.
If you want to see what I’m talking about, just get the wp plugin and install it, I guess that would be easiest. https://jei.afraid.org/wordpress/index.php/2006/04/08/wordpress-lightbox-and-image-manager-plugins/
TBH, I’m not even sure “which” lightbox to use, there seems to be a bunch of different ones out there.

In reply to: how do I hide grades on student posts?Personally, I would first take a poll in the class to see if every single student were willing to accept grades publically displayed. I would also make my blog login only above and beyond before anything else, ex. https://www.thefabhouse.com .
I would have my blog login only so the world can’t see the essays, then just email the grades, otherwise passwording the entries would be just fine.
**edit… Actually, I would just create a catagory for grades and then password that post so there’s no issues with searching for passworded posts that are being graded. Keep in mind also, not everyone wants others to read their writing. I wouldn’t.
