I decided to check it with the phpinfo() on a different site in the same host and realized that this other site was indeed running PHP 7.4…
I checked the .htaccess of the faulty site and sure enough it was referring to version 7.3… ??

I installed the plugin you suggested and realized that actually the PHP version is 7.3.33…
Something for my hosting provider to sort because in the cPanel it says that it is using 7.4… ??Thanks again!

Thank you so much for saving the day.
I just activated staging mode.
But I think the problem was that I restores the wrong backup (from the staging server) in the production domain… :-/
Actually when I created the staging server a couple of months back, I forgot that it shouldn’t be backed up and I didn’t disable the backup plugin and it was backing up to the same location as the production server… When I went for the most recent backup I picked the wrong file because I didn’t even realise it was the wrong one until it was too late. Lesson learned… the hard way…Thanks a million once again!

I had the same issue but I only replaced the wp-connfig.php file with a backed up copy and then deactivated and reactivated iThemes and all came back to normal.
I had the same issue. I recovered a backup of the wp-config.php file and the main page (where all posts are listed) worked well. But all specific posts and pages were giving 404 errors… After disabling iThemes security it started working. Upon enabling it again everything was back to normal without any further action of configuration changes from my side.
Although everything is now working, I ask myself if it’s time to look for another security plugin?Forum: Plugins

I would also like to take the chance to thank and praise the excellent work put in to the Jetpack plugin which is more a powerhouse than a plugin actually. ?? Out of curiosity my favourite ZX Spectrum (if you are old enough to know what that is) action shooter game was called Jetpac; not the same spelling though. Problem solved.
I removed the Google project and started from scratch. And now it worked. I think I had created a Server API key when the instructions clearly say it should be a Browser API key… So, my fault on this one.
I have also disabled the Enable location attributes option under Settings > General > Location settings and it still works so Tim’s suggestion to use this option doesn’t seem to be necessary.

I manged to add the latitude and longitude fields and filled them with information from the google maps site.
I also managed to add the domain and verify its ownership in the Google API manager but I still cannot see the map and the back end and front end still show what I reported initially.Despite being able to create the API key and verifying the domain and its ownership, I noticed that on the Google site they were offering a Free trial of the services so I ask myself if this a paid service that will only work once I enable the free trial or pay for the service. Do you know if this is the case?
