I just recently found this on my index page when I tried to view my site. It was fine about 2 weeks ago, my site looked normal and just how it should. Now I’m getting:

Warning: Unexpected character in input: ”’ (ASCII=39) state=1 in /home/dolcezza/public_html/index.php on line 1

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘<‘ in /home/dolcezza/public_html/index.php on line 1

I’ve googled this problem and someone on another forum had said that they found a solution — turning OFF Developer Mode. However, when I try to login as administrator, I can log in, but all that I’m directed to is a completely blank page! ??

ANY help with this would be much appreciated.

Let me also add — the “Incoming Links” feature on my WP Dashboard is not functioning, and regardless, I’d rather have a second source, too. Thanks!

Why is it always the obvious stuff I miss? It never fails! Haha. You were right kovshenin — I deleted, uploaded, and now upgrade.php has a nice upgrade page/notice.

It’s a pretty old version — last updated in early 2007, hahaha.
