In reply to: [Facebook Comments] total likes/comments not being counted by facebookYes, that was what I was asking. If it is not recording in the API, is that comment or like showing on their wall? Who really knows as facebook is ever changing. Also, I know they want pages to pay, so ….
Oh, good news. I opened a ticket among others with Facebook Developers and they now admit it is a bug and are working to correct it. Hopefully sooner than later.

In reply to: [Facebook Comments] total likes/comments not being counted by facebookmirroring only works for newly published articles, so that’s that.
I know but that is a real pain and can easily be fixed. I wanted to switch to a different facebook comments plugin but without the mirror of old posts, I would lose them all.
my solution was to create a new facebook ‘Page’
That or I can artificially inflate the counter. However, I get a lot of traffic on my Page and making another seems like unnecessary work. My main concern is does the mirror feature ruin the network effect? Do those likes or comments show on their newsfeed to boost engagement if not recorded?
Facebook developers said it was normal on a previous thread which is untrue as I tested with and without the mirror.

In reply to: [Facebook Comments] total likes/comments not being counted by facebookI wish I saw this post earlier as I contacted my sharebar support to find out it is this plugin.
I have the same issues.
First off, mirroring only works for one instance of the URL. If I repost an old article, it does not mirror.
Second, the mirroring feature is hindering the interaction count (like, shares). If I post an article without a mirror feature or on another page, the interactions count.
Third, The mirror finally started working but doesn’t mirror older posts or new comments made on older posts.
Did you find a solution? Judging from the other support threads, it looks like these guys don’t respond. I might have to look for a new one. Too bad it took me so long to realize.

In reply to: [Social Sharing Plugin - Sassy Social Share] Share counts inaccurate?Okay, I actually found the issue. It seems to be the facebook comment plugin mirror feature. For some reason, it does not count as an engagement.

In reply to: [Social Sharing Plugin - Sassy Social Share] Share counts inaccurate? It is real odd.
Now I know what you developers go thru when trying to find a solution to a bug. Man it is annoying.
If anyone else knows a solution I am all ears.

In reply to: [Social Sharing Plugin - Sassy Social Share] Share counts inaccurate?Perhaps you are expecting the number of likes (as shown in the image above) of the post that appears on the timeline after sharing, to appear as shares for Facebook share icon. No, it is not supposed to be like this.
Yes, I am expecting that. If I share using your app and then 10 people comment or like, the share count goes up by 20. However if I copy the link directly it does not.
Copied from source:
Beside of that every extra comment made on the internal facebook post increments the share counter as well when the comment is made within the timeline of the commenting user. Additionally we noticed that likes of a post are also taken into account.

The next question about the Facebook Share button is what the difference is when counting shares vs. likes. I had the same question, so I used the links.getStats console for Facebook developers. This means that whenever someone shares, likes or comments on your post on Facebook that it all will be totaled up as likes toward your post!
This guy has the same issue as me and they don’t know why either:

In reply to: [Social Sharing Plugin - Sassy Social Share] Share counts inaccurate?I thought that at first as facebook wants pages to pay but NO difference. All likes and comments (even my own) count when I use your share bar but not when I post the hyperlink directly.
I know you guys are on point, so I thought, let’s see if they have any idea. I am no expert by any means. However, I guess my question was not so dumb after all =)
It would stink to have to do everything manually. Worse case scenario, I can artificially inflate likes with your bar but I am curious now.
Again, great app and great customer service. I hope you guys do well.

In reply to: [Social Sharing Plugin - Sassy Social Share] Share counts inaccurate?it might be due to change in permalink structure or changing your website ur
Okay, I think that is the issue but unsure of why.
So if I copy the URL exactly from my website and manually share it on my page, all shares, likes, and comments for that post do not register on your bar. If I use auto posters like twitter to facebook, the same thing.
However, if I share it on my page using your toolbar all comments, likes, and shares for that post register on the share bar.
I have the setting of the toolbar for “Url of the web page where icons are located (default)”, so not sure why copying the URL does not register.
Any incite?

Sorry for late reply, I forgot to mark resolved. The Plugin is called WP deferred JavaScript.
It had iffy reviews with crashing sites but I had no issues until your update.
I guess I will keep it disabled since it must be doing something other than deferring.
That seemed to have resolved the issue unless you see different?

My plugin allows excluding javascript files URI from deferring process.
Ok, I think I found the issue. The new update is not playing nice with my deferred javascript plugin.
Do you recommend disabling that plugin or is there a specific code I can omit to keep them both running together?

I did that and tried once again. I deleted cache on WP super cache. I also cleared cache on my brower but no luck.

In reply to: [Social Sharing Plugin - Sassy Social Share] Share previewI just did it but same issue unless it takes time. The same for Google+.
However, this does not happen for the new articles I just posted.
