So that’s the concern — is what are most people doing :/
If that’s not secure, then why doesn’t WordPress provide specifics like Magento so that we can lock the site down a bit better? I understand that a majority of installs are done through cPanels & goDaddy type installs, but what about dedicated servers & cloud environments. It would be nice to get specifics on those.

Not sure on phpFPM :/ kinda too much, but thats the only solution then I guess

GoDaddy is useless – I’ve tried getting some guidance.

I’ll try setting up a generic install of WordPress and see what the server assigns as the group & user. Maybe that will give me a clue

changing permissions didn’t seem to do anything. But setting chown to:
chown nobody:nobody (All files/directories)

Worked! But what are the implications of that? And how can I fix this? I also tried apache:userName
userName:userName
root:root
apache:root
and nothing worked, but
nobody:nobody

I ran a find for file/directory permissions and set them all to 644/755, but no dice. Any other solutions?

Hi James yes I have already tried that I needed to do that in order to upgrade word press and also to upgrade the plug-ins. So the upload files already exist but whenever I revert permission it stops working
