I meant the site was working fine Saturday and I have not changed anything since then.

Oddly enough the problem just went away as of this morning and again I have changed nothing – leads me to believe there was some problem with wordpress.

OK I found the error log file and opened it. there wasn’t anything dated after Oct 15. And it was working fine yesterday the 25th.

I am far from technical. I’m a designer not a programmer. But I haven’t messed with any code.

Anyone? Please? Help?

where do I find error logs. What am I looking for?

what permissions? where do I check them? what should they be set to?

Why would it have worked fine yesterday and spontaneously give me this error today when I haven’t touched the site?

I did as you suggested, but the color on my comments link still hasn’t changed. Is there a specific place within the style.css that the new code must be added? I included items above and below where I placed it so you can tell me if I just need to move it elsewhere.

what if you want a banner to appear 1/2 way down the page? or if you want a random banner after every 5 posts? Is that possible? I see blogs that have banner ads between post content, but I can’t figure out how they do it.

then something is wrong with my install. I used the auto upgrade plugin. but I have no idea how to fix it. again please help.

me too ever get help? I just upgraded yesterday and not its not just ridiculously slow loading when trying to post etc, it also happens when anyone is just trying to VIEW the blog too. And its just the blog. my regular html landing page is loading fine.

i am having the same problem. I’m not particularly technical – I tried replacing the files with a set i downloaded right before i upgraded ,but it didn’t fix it – can anyone tell me how to “downgrade” properly and retain my posts etc?

any ideas?

i figured out part of the problem…but not a solution. the sitemap works fine…UNTIL I try to add a link to it somewhere on my blog. Then links die and I get a page of text.

I know I can just remove the link and then it works, but I’d like to have a link to it on the page.

is this an impossible dream? I’d like something just like this for a disclaimer box to warn off people who wouldn’t like the site.

THANKS FOR REPLY! I had originally planned to have Blog at root level – but installer put it in a folder and i fogot to change “Blog address.”
