you could test it out, but i would wait a while to see if this version 3 gets stable, cause as of now, its really a hit and miss, lots and i mean lots of bugs!

anyways, its probably not that hard, i suggest you make a child theme for p2 so your changes wont revert back with an update ^_^

and its most likely necessary to switch the place of “sleeve_main” (and classes inside) and “sidebar” div’s (so you need to have header.php and index.php on your child theme) and change the floating arguments on sleeve_main,postbox,main and sidebar (style.css), just use firefox firebug or chrome inspect element to tweak it out…

if it had “who is on the chat” (cause who is online you can always hack it on from wordpress/buddypress), it doesn’t need to be fancy, just the list of names, it would be perfect, cause for now, a lot of people come and talk and leave, cause they think no one is there, if they see the list they would wait for the reply cause they know someone is on the chat.

same here, not on all my sites, but all my sites share the same plugins (and some the same vps), so i dont know what is happening >_< my guess some mysql problem or glitch that corrupted the database…

uhh I’ve tried vanilla with proxy connect, its not good, its really hit and miss, and therefore unusable for anything long term :\ also because its not part of the core of vanilla, when things change in vanilla or wordpress it will break even more, regarding simple-press well cant say i tried it, but ill probably will ^_^ the only thing that makes me wonder is why it isnt on www.ads-software.com repository >_<

yeah it sucks i kinda am starting to dislike the all in one seo pack more and more, they keep pushing stuff, like the automatic disable and an abuse of promo, still you can take those idiotic seo title seo keywords things, when you are on the edit page, check on the top for the “screen options” its there to enable or disable, like in the dashboard (for enabling and disabling dashboard widgets) :\

well i’ve been here just as long @whooami and its the first time i’ve had these many different problems with wordpress, i’ve got loads of wordpress installs, but after the initial 3 different failures, in wordpress installs in different servers and settings/customs, i’m holding out for the rest of the updates, 2 of them i think were plugin related, cause most functions seem to be working right (after disabling some plugins), another was just a bad automatic update (i blame it on 2.7.1 automatic update and not really the 2.8 release) and had to do a manual upgrade to fix it, so the 3 of them are apparently working fine, i put emphasis on “apparently” cause when stuff starts breaking in so many different ways, something is apparently wrong, ohh and downplaying these problems is just as useless as complaining about it…

regarding the automatic rollback, humm seems more like bloat and difficult to sustain in the long run, backing up everything before doing any update is the best/quickest course of action (besides having backups is always a good idea), also i think wordpress automatic update does warn users to backup everything before starting the automatic update, and if a user forgot to backup (and something went terribly wrong) he can always contact their host to see if they have a older backup of the account, never hurts to ask.

ohhh for sure, i have weekly updates of all my sites (besides the hosts backups), and before any upgrade, i make a fresh backup… better be safe than sorry ^_^ but 2.8 is kinda disappointing, i did re-install manually my only site that has 2.8 and it seems to be working fine… so i guess the automatic update on 2.7.1 or the 2.8 has some problem there, hummm for sure, i’m waiting before making any new update…

yeah something seems off on 2.8, in one of my blogs the update went fine, on another it just doesn’t update (it hangs and doesn’t do anything besides copying the 2.8 files to the upgrade folder) and in another it broke the admin… kinda disappointing… still i don’t know if this is a 2.7.1 problem with auto-update or if its a 2.8 problem…

nope nope nope, nothing works, like i said, all my other wordpress installs work fine, with this one, its just fixed on that position, it is not a cache problem / browser problem /server problem, im guessing is some weird plugin that screwed something on the database side, cause all files are clean from 2.5, its just stuck on that position and i cant switch back between html and visual, and of course its not the “Use the visual editor when writing” …

Thanks Everyone, that last one Kafkaesqui said worked, but it seems navigation is not possible, previous_post_link doesn’t seem to work, i tried the single.php but the same thing happens (i can only use the posts_nav_link, but i want point to the urls directly not to page/2/ page/3/), Static i tried in the first place same problem.

In last resort i think i’ll just make a “splash page” with the link to the last post (taken from the feed or something), so the first page a person sees is the last post…

But if anyone has another idea, i would appreciate it ^^
