This is because the author of Comments Evolved is retarded and included a CSS reset file on every admin page.

There’s no clean fix, but I just went to /wp-content/plugins/gplus-comments/assets/styles/pure-min.css and saved it as a blank file.

It’s not using the searchform.php file, it’s just using the default form. I don’t think it matters at all what’s in searchform.php

Why would it at all depend what’s in the file. The problem is that it’s not using it. It’s my theme.

Yeah, it’s there. If I visit it directly it says Call to undefined function home_url(), which makes sense. Wut, I’m not calling it, I’m using the default search widget, didn’t you read the question even.

That’s all I want it to do, is force a redirect, like ?cat=43 does. When I visit ?cat=42 it doesn’t force a redirect.

I hate this error… it’s caused by your server because it has allow_url_fopen set to OFF.

You could either try not using fopen by commenting out that line if you don’t need it, or look up how to set allow_url_fopen to ON, maybe contact your hosting for support.

I don’t know any simple way of changing it, switching it to on in php.ini or .htaccess never seems to work.

You can always extract it then upload it into your themes folder using FTP

1) in wp-admin >> settings >> reading set blog posts to show as 1.

But I’d like to find a less hacky way…
