In reply to: Wesbsite completely down need helpMy databases are backed up off site. But, I can’t get past step 2 as I have no clue on how to execute myPHPadmin. Is that on my site somewhere? I downloaded it yesterday to laptop, but could not find an executable to install and launch the program.
My site is hosted on https://www.networksolutions.com. I thought that I had seen a PHP editor, but just can’t find it now. Maybe I never saw it there.
James, I appreciate your help, but hate to bother you so much. As Moderator, are you allowed to be hired to fix problems. You could most likely go in an straighten this right out. I am glad to give you my Logon creditials, etc. and glad to pay you to fix it.
thanks

In reply to: Wesbsite completely down need helpI found a different directory that is working. It must have been a test directory or something. I am not sure why it is working, but here is what our site is supposed to look like.

In reply to: Wesbsite completely down need helpThe site is https://www.careerpathwaysonline.com
I tried to figure out how to reinstall WordPress, but couldn’t. I have two other WordPress websites on this server. I assume I just install it in the directory of WordPress for https://www.careerpathwaysonline.com. The site with the problem. The other two are ok.
I also downloaded the PHPmyadmin editor to my local computer, but couldn’t figure out how to make it run. There isn’t an executable.
In the meantime, I have disabled my ADwords campaigns as I don’t want to lose money on clicks that can’t reach my site https://www.careerpathwaysonline.com.
Any help is much appreciated. I suppose that someone who knows how to do all of this can do it rather quickly. Altough I am fairly use to all of this I may be making things worse.
Thanks again.

In reply to: Wesbsite completely down need helpJames, I changed the name of the theme, but still the home page is not displaying. Is there a way to do a manual restore. I have backups of the database from the last several days, plus I believe they are on the server.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Payment Gateway Changed by itselfMike, thanks for the response. I assume all I have to do then is download the plugin for Mijireh, and all will be back the way it was.
Mijireh cost $49 a year. I am wonder if I should change over to Simplify Commerce being that it is free?
Your thought on this are much appreciated!

In reply to: Related ProductsHere is the explanation of what was done to get the site back up and running.
This came from a tech at LAD Solutions who converted the site to WordPress.
Regarding what i did for website to come up: I Had look into all the files and tried disabling all the plugins one by one from the database initially specially the caching plungin and also few files on the server. Later found that problem was database. The database tables got corrupted and we could not find out what was not working exactly, so had start things from scratch in database and used the backup file you sent to upload the tables manually to make sure no more issues, and tweaked couple files on the server and then it worked.

In reply to: Related ProductsOK, good news. I am back up and running. I am not sure what the Tech did to get it back up yet. I am asking him to explain. It was a good think I had just setup automatic backups, and that I had downloaded a backup to my local computer on May 6th.
When he first got it back up, it was dated, and I told him about the current backups, and he was able to get it back upto May 6th.
I would like to try to learn how to use WordPress, but I must admit, I am scared now. Is there a way to work on WordPress in a test mode to make changes without going live, and screwing things up? I think Lorro was correct that it was actually working, I just needed to refresh the cache. I didn’t realize that and I got into a panic mode and deleted the child-theme folder that had the style.css, and functions.php files. When that didn’t work, I thought all I would have to do to get it back was upload all of the directories from my backup, but that didn’t work.
I appreciate everyone’s help and for responding. your a great bunch of folks. Thank You!
If and when I find out what he did I will get back on here and explain.
With great appreciation,
Frank
