So if I set a static page to my custom template then I can see it apply.
If I set my homepage to a static page and then select my custom template… it doesn’t apply.

I’m guessing this is due to the homepage template taking priority over my custom template?

…but how do I change or over-ride the homepage template?

So… if I add a custom page template then the option to change page template appears under both quick edit and page attributes in the page editor.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to copy the code for the default home template?

It kind of feels like I’m using a sledgehammer to crack a nut! Do I really need a custom template file (and preferably a child-theme)?

    So that means its fixed!
    Many thanks.

Hello, that helped but I didn’t quite follow the steps. Every time I renamed the plugin folder back it kicked me straight out. Doing this process did work though:

Use FTP to delete the all-in-one-wp-security-and-firewall plugins folder.
Use phpMyadmin to delete all the AIOWPS tables from the database.
    Download the reset tool
Extract the tool and put it in the plugins directory via ftp
Log in and activate the reset tool
Go to settings and trigger the reset tool
    Reinstall and activate AIOWPS
    Cross fingers
Go though all the security settings and reapply

Hopefully that will shorten someone else’s day!
