I hope you have found the solution to this, its already 6months old, but incase you haven’t, when i faced similar situation. I used wp for the digital signage, but instead of relying on the template, i used Revolution slider.
Use the fullscreen display of revslider and remove the menus. if the address bar shows in your display use, full screen mode on your pc, this showcases only the website content (revslider content). A good template to achieve this incase you have issues with menus, is Betheme, you can choose a menu/header style that will not show the menu bar.
