Do you have a regular or temp e-mail address where I can send you the screen shots of the set up of the plugin? That would be much faster and easier then trying to type it all out. You can e-mail me at [ redacted]

I have the Pro version of WordPress Pop Up. The free version is https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wordpress-popup/. Again – I have the Pro version that has more features. I have it downloaded if you want it… I can try and send you the ZIP file.

I found my own problem. I had not gone through the procedure to get the token code from the google web site. As soon as I did that – it is working fine. To get to that part of the plugin – I had to first disable the plugin – then delete it. I then had to go into the database WP_Options and delete all entries that started with “ga_”. Reinstall the plugin and follow the instructions. That is part of the problem – you delete the plugin – and it doesn’t remove the entries in the database. Bad plugin author…. it needs to clean up after itself – makes things much easier.

    Hello Tokkonopapa,
I made the change of the util file – and the databases download with no problem now!

    WOO HOO!

A question for you. Will this fix be in the future releases of the plugin – or do I need to do something when there is a new release?

Thank you for your help on this problem. I really do appreciate it.

    Hello Tokkonopapa,
Well, after downloading the zip and installing the file – the slashes are correct – but I am still getting the errors below…..

    ZipArchive error: (C:\Windows\TEMP\IP2LOCATION-LITE-DB1.BIN-hspLYz.tmp).

    and

    ZipArchive error: (C:\Windows\TEMP\IP2LOCATION-LITE-DB1.IPV6_.BIN-dz8jtn.tmp).

Is there anything else you would ike for me to try? Let me know, and thanks!

    Good Morning Tokkonopapa,
I did as you requested. This is the errors I am getting now…..

    ZipArchive error: 11 for C:\Windows\TEMP/IP2LOCATION-LITE-DB1.BIN-wWOPmk.tmp.

    and

    ZipArchive error: 11 for C:\Windows\TEMP/IP2LOCATION-LITE-DB1.IPV6_.BIN-7833hb.tmp.

Let me know what you want me to do next.

    Thanks!

Ok Tokkonopapa – thanks for that information. A question. If I manually download the files – unzip them – and put them in the ip-geo-api\ip2location folder – will that make them functional – but just a manual process until you come up with the fix?

    Let me know, and thanks!

The answer really did not help me. So… I have an idea if it can be done… and if it can be done, I don’t know how to do it. I am thinking of changing the URL for the admin page…. from a URL that can be accessed from the outside – to one that always has localhost/ in the first part of the URL. I am going to see if that is possible in every instance of the admin page. That way it is not accessible from the outside. In my case – this is ok since I access the admin page on my local server after remoteing into it. I never access it from the outside.

Something else I made sure of were these things…. first I deleted the admin user. And – I made sure that any user on the system (especially the ones that have admin rights) – their display name that you would see on the bolg page and their login name – are completely different. Example…. if you make a blog post the name at the bottom would be “Skippy”, but the login name for this account would be “Porky”. That way the hackers never know any real login names to use on your site that have admin rights.

Hi Tara – yes I have implemented 90% of those. I wanted to see if others knew of a way to maybe even keep the hackers from getting to the login page. I assume they are since they are trying to log in.

Yes Aadhaar- it looks like the site where the WPI is trying to download the MYSQL elements are wrong. It cannot download them. I copy the download URL’s from the log and place them into IE, and it gives a 404 error. Not sure what to do to correct that. I tried just downloading the 2 MYSQL programs and install them myself outside the WPI, and it apparently does not install them correctly. Do you have any ideas?

Hi Emily – This is on a local server – not a webhost.

Hey Keith – got al of the URL’s changed – and the site is live. Now I need help with something else – and you may or may not know anything about these.

I would like to have a little auto player that automatically plays mp3 music files when a user hits the site. Preferably – I would like for it to play a different mp3 on the different pages, and it just loops. If it plays a list of mp3’s – and plays them on each page that is ok too – as long as it doesn’t start with the same song every time. I may be asking for too much. I tried 2 or 3 plugins – and none of them worked – and only 1 was compatible with WP 3.7.1. Any suggestions?

Well – let me explain. I have a windows server farm downstairs. I have the one windows web server – and it is behind my firewall right now (I am in IT – just very little wordpress or IIS experience). The web server that is on https://www.myeventdj.com right now is a Joomla server. Yes – I did read the Moving guide – but it is way over my head. Yeah – I know – me dummy. Not sure what to do at this point. The Joomla site is in production right now. SO – somehow – I need to get the URL’s changed – and what ever else needs to be done so – all I have to do is make the changes in my firewall to bring the wordpress site on line.
