Same issue, also with SiteGround who helped me identify MailPoet as the issue.

@dazzerr: It’s likely an issue with the theme you’re using. If the theme doesn’t call wp_footer, then the JS can’t be added.

With regards to the underline, you need to use:

@metrosuperstar: Yes, you can drop it into your theme’s functions.php file.

If you want to only target a specific URL the cURL is having issues with then you’ll also need to replace example\.com with the domain name of the URL in question. Otherwise, remove line starting with if( preg_match(... and the closing brace, as shown below, to have it apply for all URL that cURL accesses:

@metrosuperstar: I have a custom, site-specific plugin I created where I can put things like this. You could also put it in a functions file (https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Functions_File_Explained).

Here’s what I was able to use for my situation:

replace ‘example.com’ with the site you’re having issues with (or just remove that line and the closing brace line completely).

Timeout to however many seconds (ten seconds in the above example).

My understanding is that the plugin will only disable XML-RPC methods that require authentication. There still may be methods that do not require authentication.
