In reply to: Cannot change domain nameHi,
OK problem solved: new domain was not associated with existing folder + host not very helpful.
@wpsolutions Thanks. OK, I guess the subscribers will have to make an effort to login without button.
@mbrsolution No problem. Presently we also have “australian-style” temperatures and I realized it sometimes makes focussing difficult. (btw: for other reasons I have long ago “completely block access to xmlrpc”).

Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Text Links Not Displaying Correct ColorThanks a lot for the suggestion. I looked at the plugin page and found it really interesting. I’ll think about it but I must say I am very happy with my local XAMPP install even if the environment is not exactly the same as that of my production server . It is so easy and fast to test things (especially functions) locally. I could probably have both.
My last reply for this topic and then I promise to say “au revoir” and to not bother you anymore (for now)
1. You quietly work at improving your site locally while the other site is busy registering lots of orders (mostly from Sally).
2. Two days have passed. You are happy with what you achieved and decide to update your live site.
3.Oops a difficult choice: When replacing wp_posts should I loose some orders or do I prefer to loose all my nice designing work.A possible answer: May be asking for help from the good old wordpress export / import friend to selectively transfer new orders and other relevant data from life to local site and check whether this is OK. I’ve never done this, will need to be thorougly checked but let’s hope…Interesting problem anyway.
As promised : “au revoir”.
Thanks for your answer or should I say “merci” as you are mutilingual. Joking apart, I have no problem working with a local server,I like XAMPP and I routinely, move non-woocommerce sites from live to local and occasionally the opposite. Doing this is no problem as the local site is an improved copy of the live site so I can simply erase the latter and replace by the local. This is different for woocommerce because one cannot simply replace everythoing and afford to loose client’s data. I was hoping that woocommerce would be using the wp_posts only for storing products as posts but that accounting details such as invoices or orders or client’s data etc. would be located in dedicated woo tables so that we can threat them separately from the wp_tables. If it is not the case then my brilliant idea is dead. So it all boils down to: what exactly does woocommerce save in the wp_post.
I wonder again whether my way of describing the problem is clear.
For your other questions, my host does not offer stage site and anyway, I would have a similar problem. So to conclude I think the best solution is to put the live site in maintenance mode and work there. Would you agree with that?Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [WooCommerce] Prevent “add to cart message” reappearanceThanks. It’s just a detail not worth spending $$s or €€s. I can easily live with it.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Prevent “add to cart message” reappearanceThanks a lot for answering so rapidly and also for checking the site’s functionning. If you think it’s OK then OK!
But still from the customer’s wiewpoint if as soon as I order let’s say a tool I’m immediately asked to buy another one I will be slightly ennoyed. But that’s no big deal.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Prevent “add to cart message” reappearanceYes, of course

Thanks.
Sorry, I forgot that everything is in french. “Shop” is, well…”shop”, “ajouter au panier” is “add to cart”, “voir le panier” is “view cart” and “vider le panier” is “empty-cart”
Should be OK?- This reply was modified 5 years, 10 months ago by fermanus.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Location of some woo-messages and buttonsHi,
OK I found the “empty cart” text. It is in the plugin “booster for woocommerce” and unfortunately it cannot be modified. Too bad but at least everything is clear now.
Thanks for your advices.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Location of some woo-messages and buttonsHi,
I will try clearing the cache although I am not sure it will work as modifying the css of the box containing the message works OK. Only that of the text does not. Meanwhile, I’ve found the php file where the “item was succesfully added to your cart” is located (wc-cart-functions) so I could add some style directly to the text output.
I have seen examples (not rare) where css modifications did not work because of wrong enqueuing. So may be here custom css / css are applied too early in the cascade and the text cannot be formatted . This is difficult to check, although possible but time consuming.
For the other “empty cart” message I’ll check further. I also have booster for woocommerce so maybe there… If I find out I will let you know.
Thanks

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Location of some woo-messages and buttonsHi @phillipwoo
Thanks for your answer. First for the (normally simple) css question. It is very strange: I already tried earlier what you suggested but tried again to make sure. Adding the css to the list of custom css’s and using either font-size Xlarge or 30px or text-size-adjust with or without !important has no effect. I have other custom css’s which work fine. I even tried to add the css directly in the style.css file of my theme without effect. All these css changes work fine using the Firefox inspector but it seems not possible to make the change permanent.
For the second question (the translation). Woocommerce is largely translated in french apart for some tiny things like the empty-card button so I did not plan to use a plugin for the translation of just two words. Instead I wanted to change the text directly in the appropriate file. I know the changes will disappear when updating but adding the translated text again is no big deal. The question is that I am completely unable to find where this text might be. Of course, my customers and I can live without the text being translated (in france with some effort we can understand a few english words (joking)) but it bothers me not to be able to solve such an apparently simple problem.
Thanks a lot
Forum: Localhost Installs
In reply to: Database table not found in LocalhostHi,
The link you give corresponds to a functional site. Is your local site a duplicate of this site?
Hi,
Please have a look at the more recent post “Refuse cookies functionality” started by dlwnz. I think that explains everything.
Briefly:
1. Are all cookies accepted / loaded when we click the Accept button? YES2. And viceversa, are they blocked when we click “Decline cookies”? YES and NO: only third party cookies (GA analytics and the like) whose script has been added to the “script field” and removed from all other places in the site will be blocked. All other cookies will not.
Hope it helps

In reply to: [Cookie Notice & Compliance for GDPR / CCPA] Refuse cookies functionalityThere are some changes.
If you click “no” and check the status of “cookie-notice accepted” you see it is set on “false”. You can still see the (in my case) GA cookies in the site-cookie list but they are not executed. If you press “yes” the “cookie-notice-accepted” is set on “true” and the cookie are active. You can further check this:
If you manually remove the GA cookies from the list and refresh the page they dont come back. In the second case they do.
