  • When someone goes to register, it asks for a user name. When they choose a user name, it says a valid email address is required. So, they go back to register with an email address and it says a user name is required. There’s only one spot to fill in either one. This is a new problem, but I don’t know when it started. Some people registered with no problem, but now no one new can register.

I just used the settings as they are in the plugin since I don’t know how to write code. I had not changed them, so I don’t know why this started happening, unless it’s a problem with the latest update of WordPress. My theme has not had a recent update. Please respond in layman’s terms.

    Thank you.

I’m afraid your reply and the information at https://ogp.me/ is way over my head. Here’s my problem and I’d really appreciate any help you can give me, considering that I do not even know what a meta tag is, how or where to add it, or how to correctly write it.

This problem started a few weeks ago, with our latest posts. When someone clicks on the Facebook share button for that post, an error 404 message appears in the window to post on Facebook. If you go ahead and click on Post to Facebook anyway, usually the actual post appears, but either without the photo, or the photo is upside down. Sometimes, the post doesn’t appear at all and it’s only the error message. You never know until you’ve actually posted it. All the other share buttons work just fine.

I went to the Facebook object debugger and entered one of the post’s url’s and clicked on Debug. It showed a number of errors, but I have no idea how to fix them. For example, here’s what it says:

Object at URL ‘https://finitefoodie.com/2016/12/st-nicholas-day-celebration/’ of type ‘website’ is invalid because a required property ‘og:title’ of type ‘string’ was not provided.
    Warning
Curl Error : OPERATION_TIMEOUTED Operation timed out after 10000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received
    Warning
    Errors That Must Be Fixed
Object Missing a Required Value Object at URL ‘https://finitefoodie.com/2016/12/st-nicholas-day-celebration/’ of type ‘website’ is invalid because a required property ‘og:title’ of type ‘string’ was not provided.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Bobbi

The Facebook share (and other share buttons) worked on all my previous posts and still do. However, the last 2 posts which were created just like the others don’t work. All of the other share buttons do, but when someone goes to share one of the 2 latest posts on Facebook, the message says Page Not Found Error 404… I went ahead and posted it and the actual post appeared on my FB page, just fine, with the featured picture and all. I went back in to try again and it worked–no more error message. On the next post that’s having a problem, it responds in a similar but not exactly the same way. The Error 404 message keeps showing up, but when I go ahead and post, the actual posts appears, but the picture is upside down. Every time I try to do it, the Error message shows up, but when I go ahead and post anyway, the actual post comes up but with the upside down picture. https://finitefoodie.com/2016/12/st-nicholas-day-celebration/
