Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: where to edit sidebarI’m just saying as a non technical user and complete newbie to WordPress, what are they going to do?
1) Go to WordPress website
2) Click on the support link
3) Click on forums
4) Find the forum that’s appropriate for the issue they’re having. In my case, it was “themes and templates”
5) Maybe do a quick search (which I did…searched on “customizr” and “sidebar” of which nothing relevant came up)
6) Post issue
7) Wait for hopefully quick follow up and responseWhen a user sees a forum entitled “themes and templates”, they’re not going to stop and ask, “gee, even though I’m having an issue with a theme and am in the “themes” forum, I wonder if there’s a sub-forum even though zero subforums are listed on the forum listing page”.

In reply to: where to edit sidebarThank you for the info.
That’s not very intuitive though in terms of navigation. As a suggestion, is it possible on the https://www.ads-software.com/support url to put a specific “sticky” or note telling people if there’s something specific to their theme to do just that?
I say this because people seeking support on WordPress I think will naturally go to the support section for the forums, and then click on the category most appropriate like I did.

If you didn’t post the link, how would I have found that specific url? It’s not on the main page:
When I click on “Forums” under “Support”, all I see that’s relevant is “Themes and Templates” which is the category I clicked on to post this originally.

In reply to: Next/Prev link in own categoryI believe I finally found it thanks to some help.
The file “link-template.php” in the wp-includes folder needs to have its default values for the $in_same_cat parameters in the following two functions changed to “true”:
* previous_post_link
* next_post_linkForum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Customizr] Customizr not displaying blue skin in blueOk. I downloaded the customizr.3.0.9.zip file and extracted everything on my local computer.
I took the blue.css file and uploaded it.
No difference.
So I went back to the website’s URL, and even though it has this URL:
https://blogs.davelozinski.com/wp-content/themes/customizr/inc/css/blue.css?ver=3.0.9it was downloading the red.css file.
So what I did is I copied the blue.css file into a CSS formatting program (used Visual Studio) so everything was formatted nicely.
Saved that file as blue.css.
Uploaded it to my server, and NOW the blue.css file is actually being downloaded and used.
That is, I see blue now.
So I have no idea what was happening, only that it appears to be working now.
Hopefully everyone else still sees blue too? ??
Thanks to everyone for your help and suggestions!

In reply to: [Customizr] Customizr not displaying blue skin in blueThanks for the suggestions!
Renaming the red.css file to red.css.keep didn’t have any affect.
Renaming blue.css to blue.css.keep did affect everything. Nothing’s displayed properly now.
Are you able to email me a copy of the blue.css file so I can just upload that and hopefully fix everything? That would be great!
Please send it to (ignore the quotes) :
[ redacted, support is offered via the forums and not via e-mail ]
Yes, that’s a leading underscore.

In reply to: [Customizr] Customizr not displaying blue skin in blueI don’t think that’s the issue because this issue started the moment I installed Customizr. That is, I downloaded the theme, activated it, and from that moment forward I haven’t been able to get the blue skin to display as blue.
I just tried viewing my blog site on a friend’s laptop, and red comes out again.
I then looked at the CSS file that’s being loaded!
https://blogs.davelozinski.com/wp-content/themes/customizr/inc/css/blue.css?ver=3.0.9
Check it out!
The links have RGB color codes for RED! Here’s an excert:a {
color: #e10707;
text-decoration: none;
}
a:hover,
a:focus {
color: #970505;
text-decoration: underline;
}I tried reinstalling the theme to no avail!
How the heck do I get it to install the BLUE CSS file?
Or is that really the blue.css file and somewhere else it’s picking up and displaying red codes instead of blue codes??!
Please help!

In reply to: [Customizr] Customizr not displaying blue skin in blueThis is really frustrating. My skin is still set to “blue” and my screens keep coming up red.
Do my screen captures I posted at least look red to you? If so, that at least rules out me going colorblind when viewing my blog. ??
I’ve cleared all the caches I’m aware of, closed down the browser, rebooted the computers, and it still comes up with red.
I’m using Firefox version 22 on Win 7 64 bit and IE 10 on Win 7 64 bit too.
Any ideas?
Thanks for the link! That does fix it for me too.

Has this bug been reported and is it going to be fixed in a future version?

In reply to: [Customizr] Customizr not displaying blue skin in blueIt’s showing red on at least two different laptop computers with two different browsers, so am not sure how you’re seeing blue?
Here’s how it looks in IE on one computer:

Here’s another capture showing how it looks in Firefox:

In reply to: [Customizr] How to add featured page?In your WordPress Admin go to “Appearance | Customize”.
Then choose “Front Page”, then you’ll see a section called “Featured Page”.
Select the page and save.
