some more details ..

the blog shows up fine ..

the wp-login.php page shows up fine

Dashboard .. for that matter EVERYTHING within the wp-admin directory .. bounces up a blank page ..

As a test, I entered a false page URL within the wp-admin directory “wp-admin/XXXaaa.php” .. I correctly get a 404 error ..

So .. the page URL *is* recognized as a valid address, but all I’m getting are blank pages within the wp-admin directory.

Does that help anyone to help me squish this bug?

Eureka!!!

Decided to take another crack at it .. in exploring around I discovered that the atom feed displayed the correct time while the rss2 feed did not .. so .. simple matter of opening the wp-atom.php file and copying the date format

“Y-m-d\TH:i:s\Z”

.. and replacing the

“D, d M Y H:i:s +0000”

code in the two places it is found in the wp-rss2.php file ..

ta-daaaa! Perfect .. at least for me anyways.

Follow-up … editing the wp-rss2.php file doesn’t work .. at least not for me …

Also wouldn’t hurt to create an XML sitemap and use Google’s (relatively) new Sitemap submission engine … https://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/login .. doesn’t guarantee placement (quick or otherwise) .. but at least they’ll know about you ..
