In reply to: I can't log in to my WP PageIf you are unable to log in to your dashboard, but have access to the files on the server (either through your host control panel or FTP) just navigate to wp-content/themes/colourise and rename the folder from colourise to something like old-colorize.
This will deactivate the theme, and force WordPress to load the default theme instead. If your theme is causing problems, then this will at least get you back into the dashboard.

In reply to: Possible Virus? Users are getting a pop-up porn message@vuhoops – The process of restoring from backup is complicated enough to require a fair amount of confidence and expertise, so if you are not technically-minded, don’t muck about; have someone help you with this.
I recommend you contact your hosting provider and asked them to roll you back to a date that is prior to being hacked. Mosts web host will do this for you (they may charge, but it’s worth it in this instance) so you don’t have to worry about being in over your head.
Bottom line: You need to fix this ASAP, and if you can’t do so right away, take the site down for maintenance. As we speak, your site is causing visitors computers to be open to god know what kinds of attacks.

In reply to: Possible Virus? Users are getting a pop-up porn messageYes, it’s compromised. If you have host access, I’d take it down immediately. Also, test it here. I did, and it shows malware in your javascript.
Do you have a backup you can restore from? A backup of both the files and the database. It’s often easier to “roll the clock back” to a clean copy of your site.
Also, good idea, for anyone else here, to NOT click on the link above or visit vuhoops.com

In reply to: godaddy hosting speed wordpressWell, WordPress themselves recommend several here, and I’ve had experience with them all through various client installs. They all seem to do a pretty good job, though ymmv.
One thing is for sure, GoDaddy hosting is to be avoided like the plague. I’ve moved several sites from GD to different hosting plans, and seen immediate speed increases. I also have two sites of my own on GoDaddy, and they are suuuuuuuper slow.
I’d switch.

In reply to: WP crashes to 404 page when saving a postFirst place I’d look is either the theme or the plugins. Deactivate all your plugins ans switch to a default theme like Twenty Eleven, and see if you’re still having the problem.

In reply to: can't install plugins – 'failed writing body'I had the same issue, and was also able to solve the problem by upgrading my hosting account to have more storage space (mine was full)
No more warning messages like this one since. ??

In reply to: Adjust SIZE of sidebar widget area, HOW?!Hi Shookie,
Can you start a new topic for that question? It’s difficult for others new users to search for answers to similar problems if they are hidden at the bottom of a different topic, such as this one is.
Cheers

In reply to: Adjust SIZE of sidebar widget area, HOW?!Turn them all off as a test. If your site is quicker, then plugins are the issue, and you can turn them on one-by-one until you find the culprit.
If the site is still slow, it’s probably time to move to a new host.

In reply to: Adjust SIZE of sidebar widget area, HOW?!Yeah, it’s pretty slow. Who do you host with? Unless you’re running some kind of resource intensive plugins, or have done hacking to the code of your site that might introduce errors, it’s most likely that you have a crummy hosting setup.
The browser issue could be about cache, but hard to say for sure. In Firefox, reload the page by hitting F5, which will for the page to ignore cache on reload.

In reply to: making the READ MORE button appear automaticly after XX wordsI have no idea what Quick Adsense is, so my guess is that it won’t recognize the code. You have to add it directly to the HTML in the text editor, and not by using the plugin you mention above, which is probably geared towards ad embed codes, and not WordPress quick tags.
