You can still access my site with the username and password I gave you. I have changed permissions to administrator.

I’ve done as you said and all the photos have crashed – sidebar slideshow, slideshow only, normal slideshow and album cover. The pictures have disappeared and have been replaced by the first letter of their names. I have no idea what to do except reload the older version of wppa.

I tried the code you gave me in my theme’s custom css and all worked well. Unfortunately the album cover is now completely messed up by the update – it has a vertical column of text one character wide instead of the picture.

I’m not sure about the best update method since there doesn’t seem to be an automatic way of doing it and I can’t find any clear instructions. Should I backup the plugin settings (Table 8-A2), delete the existing plugin then load and install the latest version of wppa and then finally reload the settings? Or should I do it another way?

Did you check out the standard mcr album cover under responsive conditions?

Hi Jacob, I can’t find Table 4-A10. It only goes to A8!! I’ve got wppa+ 5.2.20. I’ll update and tell you if the code works.

Also, check out your album covers when used responsively on small mobile devices. I used responsinator.com. As it gets narrower, the cover remains as 2 columns side by side instead of stacking and turning into just one column. Since the image doesn’t get smaller it means that the text is squeezed into a smaller space finally reaching one letter per line!!

    Hi Jacob
Sorry about the permissions, I thought I made you admin.

The cover type was set to standard mcr in the Settings. What I didn’t realise was that this could be overridden on the Album page. So, now I have the cover text aligned to the left and the image top right. Almost there but there’s around two lines of white space above the title and below the description making the box more than twice as high as the thumbnail. I changed Table 1-D2 to 0 but there is still a blank line after the description (which only has one line). Are there any settings which will help or do I need to work on the CSS?

Thanks again for your help. You’re doing a fantastic job. But this plugin takes a lot of learning, there are so many variables. Keep up the excellent work.

Yes, it could be a CSS theme conflict. I’m using Thesis.

The site is very much under construction and I’d rather not have it available to the public. Send me your email and I’ll give you a login. Thanks.

    Hi Jacob
Thanks for the quick reply. I had those settings before. I’ve tried all the cover types and they don’t change anything. I’m using the following shortcode on a page:
    [wppa type=cover album=1 size=630] [/wppa]
and I’m getting a cover box of 630px wide and around 330 high with centred text giving the name of the album, description, link to slideshow, link to thumbnails and then underneath, bottom left, a thumbnail photo. I cannot move the photo, I can’t get the text to align left and whatever I do doesn’t seem to change anything. If I change the size of the cover to 300px (on shortcode and/or settings) nothing changes to the cover. Something is completely overiding the cover settings. Any suggestions? I’m probably missing something obvious.

You are indeed a genius. It works! And indeed it’s much better than many premium plugins. When I can understand all the ins and outs I’ll write a review. Meanwhile you should make it much clearer to people that it is responsive. People need to know. Thanks Jacob for all your work.

Some of these are really neat and free for non-commercial use.
