This is great news… I’ll give it a try tonight.

I want to set up my site in a similar manner, with different blog pages for various projects I’m working on. I’d like each to have it’s own unique look (banner, colors and sidebar), and until this thread I thought I might have to set up completely separate blogs to do so.

I’m a big fan of this thread… your help may enable me to run my site as one blog, instead of having to do multiple installs simply for the sake of using different templates.

I’m also interested to hear what everyone has to say about this… I’m debating between setting up multiple blogs linked into a comprehensive site, or simply using different categories as different ‘sites’ in the same blog, but would like users to be able to pick and choose for RSS feeds.

So, last night I wiped 1.2.2 from my server, downloaded 1.2.1 and uploaded it.

Boom. Worked perfectly.

WordPress looks absolutley beautiful, and I’m already digging the functionality. Now it’s off to the How-To forum to figure out the whole multi-blogging thing.

Originally, I had the database name set as “wpress” and the database username set as “wpress” as well. Thinking that this might screw with things, I changed the username to “wpblog”, but I’m still getting the same error message.

Really hope I can get this worked out…

Sorry ab0ut that…I downloaded the most recent version of WP, and the server has:

PHP version 4.3.10
MySQL version 4.0.22-standard

I’m trying to do a basic install in a subdirectory.
