I also wrote a longer resource here, that can also help you debug: https://florinmuresan.com/discussions-about-completely-100-hiding-wordpress/
Hi,
this is a completely different plugin from the Squirrly Company.
It’s a free plugin, and there are no paid plans available for it.

In reply to: [Hide My WP Ghost - Security & Firewall] Very powerful!Thank you for the review.
The videos from these security experts and Youtube influencers will help you out for sure:
https://www.squirrly.co/marketingtools/4-user-made-youtube-videos-for-hmwp-ghost/
Their Youtube videos will help you easily go through all the necessary settings, to help make everything super easy.
The paths from safe mode can easily be configured by going to each of them (as you will see in the videos). So that really won’t be a worry.
Also, most WordPress attacks are made by hacker bots, which are written with the basic paths. It’s very unlikely you’ll find a bot written with these paths.
And it also doesn’t matter since you can configure them.
You’ll see many people here https://www.squirrly.co/successful/hide-my-wp/ who’ve managed to get WordFence and WP Cerber to report back to them that no more attacks are taking place on a daily basis after going through the settings of Hide My WP Ghost.

In reply to: [Hide My WP Ghost - Security & Firewall] No wayDid you contact support about it?
They work very hard to help with settings and to guide you.
I assure you it can be done.
Most detectors already have a cached database. Some of them keep a 3 months cache, others up to a year.
So even if I gave you a html file to upload via FTP and say that’s your whole site, those theme detectors would still believe it’s a WordPress site (even though it would basically be just a basic html).
Contacting support is the best way to go about it.
That’s why you have that option. The knowledgebase also has many articles to show you exactly how to hide paths, especially in more advanced plugins.

In reply to: [Hide My WP Ghost - Security & Firewall] Odd sales pitchHi,
During these times it’s very important to invest in website security, because cyber attacks are on the rise!
That is information to help you out. You can buy any solution out there, but it’s important for customers and users to know what’s going on in the world right now!
We have over a Million USD in ARR, as a company, so I can assure you that we don’t have time to waste on such trivial matters. PLUS: why would we waste time attacking our users, only to then waste money because some of them wouldn’t know how to cope with this and would close down their sites? In what world would that help us?
Two of our sites have also been heavily attacked through DDOS on Sunday and Monday. Did we also cause that to our OWN websites?
What do you think?

Thank you for your support. I appreciate the time you spent talking to us, as it really helped us understand our mistake and understand how we can be better in the future.

In reply to: [SEO Plugin by Squirrly SEO] They Don’t Stop Charging Your AccountHi @dwiggie ,
I appologize for this.
The only cancel status in our e-payments platform is 2nd February 2022. Which is true. That’s the only time when the subscription has been cancelled.
I will refund the two months, because Peter did promise you that the account will be downgraded.
He didn’t mean any harm, nor foul, but his access to our systems is limited and didn’t have clearance to check outside the cloud.squirrly.co system. So, based on what he knew at the time he has presented the correct information to you.
Which is why I appologize, personally.
There was a bug in the cloud app of Squirrly SEO and your Billing History returns a blank screen. That’s why Peter couldn’t see anything else. He had no reason to believe there was any subscription and that’s why he wanted to know if you had other accounts.
We will fix this through the https://customers.digitalpackglobal.com/ that we are releasing this month. We’re in the final phases of testing. There, you have access to the subscription you paid and a link to the FastSpring payment system where you can see that the subscription is indeed cancelled.
With this new platform, Peter and the others in our support team will be able to double-check each license, without having to rely solely on cloud.squirrly.co
That way, anyone will be able to double check: both our team and our clients.
It sounds like this was a very frustrating experience.
With this new customer panel I want to avoid all such cases moving forward.
We will make the refund (for Feb and Jan) today!
Best regards,
Florin Muresan

In reply to: [SEO Plugin by Squirrly SEO] They Don’t Stop Charging Your AccountHi,
This is not related to the Free plugin at all.
However:
– you paid for a self-management plan! Did you go to cloud.squirrly.co in order to access your billing info?
– did you click in the emails you receive from our store (there is a link to your subscription where you can cancel anytime.)
– did you contact our MANY customer service channels about the issue and provided identification details so we can look into this for you?Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [SEO Plugin by Squirrly SEO] Want to switch.. but ..Hi,
Normally it shouldn’t be. Depends a lot on what you have inside your own WP and how everything is configured. Nobody could tell you for certain without an in-depth look.
However, we’ve built many import options to make switching from Yoast to Squirrly SEO very easy:
https://howto.squirrly.co/wordpress-seo/migrating-data-how-to-switch-from-yoast-seo-to-squirrly-seo/
^^ it’s a helpful guide where my team tried to walk through this step by step.
Squirrly processes data on our Cloud Services, on the SaaS side of Squirrly SEO. Because of that, we don’t leave a large footprint like Yoast and the others, and our loading time is incredible:
https://howto.squirrly.co/faq/is-squirrly-seo-a-heavy-plugin/
Squirrly is SaaS+plugin, so the heavy loading is done on our end, not on the user’s end. On the ^^ link you can see a live demo I made for a new WP site where I installed and configured Squirrly SEO, to check the speed.
Thank you for asking. I hope these resources were helpful.

In reply to: [SEO Plugin by Squirrly SEO] wow too complicatedHi,
What did you feel was complicated? Please detail some more, so we can understand and implement your feedback.
All settings are made for you, out of the box, just as soon as you finish the 3 step wizard.
Was there a certain section of the tool that you went to and felt it was complicated?
Best regards,
FlorinPlease check it now.
We’ve released an update for this.
However: it only affected things while the user was inside the wp-admin zone for one of the sections in our plugin. there’s no reason for why other plugins should interfere in that section. It usually only messes up the UI and UX for the users, which is why we decided to do that in the first place. Otherwise, we need to keep telling our users to switch off other plugins until they can see which plugins are causing the problems. (since it’s clearly not our fault)

In reply to: [SEO Plugin by Squirrly SEO] its not free at allEven though we have over 5,000 paying customers (B2B customers) for the PRO version, we’ve got tens of thousands using the free version which you find here on WordPress.
It’s insanely great and the free version offers the premium features of the other plugins for… wait for it… free.
Maybe next time you’ll actually use the plugin before writing a review. Throwing 1 star reviews in such a way shows more about you than it does about us.

In reply to: [SEO Plugin by Squirrly SEO] This is a scam STAY AWAYI have just checked everything and you were unsubscribed from the mailing list.
Maybe the SEO Audit was the problem? There are separate lists. Some want all of them, some want just the Audit, etc.
Anyway, I have made sure you will not receive anything from us again.
If you need anything, please do reach out to [email protected] or [email protected]

In reply to: [SEO Plugin by Squirrly SEO] This is a scam STAY AWAYNothing about this is scam. Have you actually used the product?
Also, what you’re saying is basically accusing MailChimp of not treating email unsubscribes properly. Trust thousands of company that their system is good.
You could’ve easily solved this by asking us to delete all of your data. You do have the right to do that. And we respect it.
Plus, I assure you, Mailchimp works.
In the past reviews regarding the PRO version were removed by the moderators. That caused a bit of confusion as to the way in which these are handled. Maybe things have changed and I wanted to let you know that I’m Okay with the change. It doesn’t bother me.
You don’t have to be so aggressive about it, since I didn’t mean it as a sign of disrespect.
