In reply to: [Twenty Seventeen] video header on mobileHi,
This appears to be a browser limitation rather than a theme issue. From what I can see, browsers only display video content when the resolution in at least 900 x 500 px. That’s why it appears to work fine on tablets and not phones. Not the answer you were looking for I appreciate – sorry!FS

In reply to: [Twenty Seventeen] Menu hides textsHi.
Try using the plugin ‘Page Scroll to ID’ which allows you to specify an offset from the id=”reference” statement. This will allow a smooth scroll from your menu to the correct page/section just below the top menu bar – assuming you have set the correct offset.
Hope this is clear & helps.

In reply to: [Twenty Seventeen] home page image takes up too much spaceHi,
When I look on your live site there is only 1 name.On the screen shot you posted I can see 2 but the one in the background looks like it is part of the image. It looks pixelated. The text in the foreground appears to me to be the title text as it is not pixelated.
2 questions
1 ) are you certain the text is not embedded on an image?
2) where can I see the double text on your live site so I can try to trace the issue.
Regards,
FS

In reply to: [Twenty Seventeen] home page image takes up too much spaceCan you please take a screen print so I can see what you get?
It should look something like the image in this link
The link in your last post is taking me to your admin login page
Use something like https://prnt.sc to take and store your screen shot then share the link.
Thanks.

In reply to: [Twenty Seventeen] home page image takes up too much spaceGo to your site backend dashboard.
Hover over ‘Appearance’
Click on ‘Edit CSS’
Click on the first empty line – to the right of the line number (probably be Line 1 unless you’ve previously added some additional code)
Copy and paste the code supplied
You will see the effect of the code changes in the preview on the right.
You can change the height parameter to get your desired size
Click ‘Publish’ at the top to put the changes live.
You can delete/change the additional code any timeHope this helps.

In reply to: [Twenty Seventeen] How do I use 2017 theme?Hi. There are lots of guides online. Go to the Dashboard where you can change images from the Appearance tab where you can customise the theme. ‘How to make the website work’ is a very generic statement. Exactly what do you mean and I’ll try to answer? Regards.

In reply to: [Twenty Seventeen] error: pictures don’t showWas the spurious code still visible after you de-activated the Visual Composer plug-in? If so that implies the issue is else where. Sometimes it is easier to rebuild – more efficient on your time.

In reply to: [Twenty Seventeen] error: pictures don’t showHi again.
What I would do if I had this issue is change my theme to another theme like say Twenty Seventeen or Twenty Nineteen – or any current standard (included with WP install) WordPress theme as they are ‘known’ entities. Don’t worry about how your site looks compared to what you are expecting it to look like. You are only looking for the code errors you previously mentioned. I would then disable all plug-ins and view my live site. There should be no spurious code visible. I would then enable each plug-in one by one to check for errors on my live site – painfully slow I know but necessary to find the problem. Once you find the plug-in causing the issue you can deal with it.
If you disable all plug-ins and still find that you have spurious code visible, it implies to me that there is corruption in your theme code in which case I would delete the theme from my WordPress and reinstall.
Hope this helps.

In reply to: [Twenty Seventeen] error: pictures don’t showHi. Catch Theme supports comment is ambiguous. What they might mean is that they temporarily switched your theme to Twenty Seventeen, found that the problem still existed and then traced it to Visual Composer ( another plug-in you are using?) – try deactivating Visual Composer and see if that changes anything remembering to clear any main site cache etc. If it works then you need to contact the Visual Composer help/support. Regards.

In reply to: [Twenty Seventeen] New user, lost Dashboard optionsI really need to see what you are seeing to try & understand the issue. Is there any way you can take a screen print and send me a link? https://snag.gy is a free service that allows you to upload a screen print and share the link. That way I would be able to see the exact issue and hopefully help.
