  • Okay, I knew the uploader doesn’t do the crunching… A moment of Luddite thinking in my frustration.

I was unaware of the size constraint property, guess my search terms weren’t as good as I thought. Thank you.

While I’ve got your attention, perhaps you can answer another question for me. When uploading an image into a post, occasionally the left/center/right alignment radio boxes don’t seem to affect the inclusion of the time. Also, the “more” link doesn’t seem to work. I’m using ComicPress as my theme if it helps.

    Suggestions are appreciated, thank you.

    Score!
Anyhting to help with WordPress’ God awful 2.5.x image posting. I run a webcomic, and the “crunching” even when I click full sized is driving me up the wall. This new image system is just stupid. When are they going to learn and make the UI cut and dry simple like Blogger… I swear, I love WP for it’s functionality, but do they have to make everything so fucking complicated…

I’ll give this a go, thanks for your help, you’re a life saver!

Really? Nothing. Someone has to have had a problem similar to this, or have some idea of how to hack a solution together. Help a blogger out here ??

I am also having this trouble.

I have GD installed and it is working correctly (or rather my host has it installed).
I’m getting thumbnails created. IE: in my FTP window I can see image1.jpg and image.thumbnail.jpg.
My images are 860×300 @ 72dpi, so it’s not the size issue.
I’ve deactivated all my plugins, including podpress, no change.
I even tried the default theme.

Still no thumbnail option in the Send to Editor window after upload, or when browsing older files I posted once upon a time with thumbnails.

I’m running WP 2.3.1 (current version as of 1/03/07 – Happy New Years! ??
My host is GoDaddy, which sucks I know, but this problem has just cropped up again after podpress resolved (for most people) their issue.

If anyone has any suggestions on a fix, or a plugin substitution, I would be grateful. Lack of thumbnail support is a major problem for my site.

    Thanks.
