Hmmm. I noticed that even if you save a custom post type with the setting of “Yes” to “Show in admin menu”, when you go back to re-edit it that option is set to “No” again.
Yes, same problem here. That’s after updating to More Types 1.1 and resaving my existing custom post types with the advanced setting of “Yes” in “Show in admin menu”.

That should be the case when I switch across, yet. If it’ll work automatically then that’d be cool. ??
Yeah, will do on the database!
Actually, was probably less clear than I should have been. Permalinks within the site should work fine. But obviously a lot of my blog posts are linked to from elsewhere, e.g. other blogs, plus Google etc. I basically want people who visit via those old links to avoid the 404 pages and get automatically redirected to the right pages.

In the admin section go Settings > Reading > and you can designate a front page that isn’t the blog in “Front page displays”.

Is it perhaps the way that the permalinks have been formatted – e.g. they currently read https://www.fogofeternity.com/index.php/2008/05/lost-on-the-internet/, whereas your permalinks do not reference the php?
If so then I may just suck it up when it comes to fogofeternity.com, but can make alternative arrangements for cannon-on-sports.com. Thing is, when I choose ‘Custom Structure’ in the ‘Customize Permalink Structure’ in the dashboard, and remove the index.php section, both existing (if republished) and new articles return a “Page not found” when clicking on the permalink from the home page.
