Thanks Spyro but as I said I have tried the toggle buttons but NONE of them are working – However:

I’ve just logged on this morning and everything is back to normal, all the toggles are working and everything is A OK

I’m happy with that, but still don’t understand why it wasn’t performing yesterday and would like to know if anyone has any ideas would appreciate them.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I might achieve this?

Have tried it in the “Pages Bottom widget area” which was working fine until I added a sidebar menu on one of the pages then it shrank the image to fit the remainder of that page.

I need to be able to spread an image across the whole page footer on all pages on the site

BUT believe it or not I just logged in to the site and tried again to change the permalink structure and it worked fine.

Now how strange is that, I’ve changed nothing since last night when it failed and yet today it works – scary!!

I guess I’ll have to close the topic without really getting to the bottom of why it failed first time round.

I hit the save button and all appears to work OK with the permalinks I don’t get any messages of any sort, but still getting the “page not found”.

It is obviously something to do with the change I make to the permalink structure but I can’t for the life of me think what!!

Getting very frustrated!!!

Followed your instructions and deactivated all plugins and everything returned to normal with the edit screen showing what it should.

Started to reactivate the plugins one at a time and all went well until I reached “WP TinyMCE Tables”. After reactivating that particular plugin the edit problem recurred. So deactivated it again and all returned to normal, great. So it would definitely appear to be the “WP TinyMCE Tables” plugin.

Have added “WP TinyMCE Tables” to the tag list on here

OK that was easier than I thought and have done it all, but the edit screen is still completely blank – except for the word count, nothing else in visual or text shows up, even my cream background doesn’t show.

Can I roll back to 3.8.0?? If so how do I do that?

Many thanks for this but whilst I am not a novice with WP I am only a relative beginner and I don’t understand the 2nd paragraph

Part 1 is OK I can delete the 2 folders but the second part I am confused with.

Currently I just upload WP in the “admin” view on my site I don’t add or remove anything so can you explain that part in a little more detail please, like an a, b c, guide?

I assume this is to correct the blank page in edit problem?
