  • ok i’m a stupid idiot, don’t know why I didn’t see this before.
I was not blocking ads per se, but I was using a Chrome extension (that I only installed on the one Chrome browser having the issue) called “Facebook Disconnect”

    https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/ejpepffjfmamnambagiibghpglaidiec

fyi, the same thing happens to me on YouTube with my Chrome browser. The share link to facebook doesn’t even show up. But works fine on my other browsers. So definitely not a plugin issue or WordPress issue. Still trying to figure it out.

no worries. thanks for responding though.

at least the issue it limited to the specific browser. It probably is an extension causing it. If I ever figure it out i’ll post what I find here

    no ad blocking at all.

I was having the same issue and I looked all over because it seemed to happen from one day to the next. It was completely fine yesterday, I have not added any plugins and suddenly today it stopped working. I checked and double-checked everything. My App is set-up correctly. My plugins weren’t the cause. I finally had the idea to check different browsers and as it turns out, it’s a browser issue. I use several different computers (1 PC at work, 2 at home, pc and mac).

    The browser with the issue:
Chrome 9.0.597.102 for Mac (Macbook pro with intel)
Could it possibly be one of the extensions I have on it causing the issue?

    Works fine on:

    • Firefox for Mac ver 4.0b11
    • Chrome for PC 9.0.59.98
    • Safari Version 5.0.3

when I look at my error console on the browser that’s causing the conflict I see this:
Uncaught ReferenceError: FB is not defined – in post.php, line 631
which refers to this function in post.php: FB.ensureInit(function()
    and
Uncaught ReferenceError: FB_RequireFeatures is not defined – in post.php, line 927
which refers to this function in post.php: FB_RequireFeatures([“XFBML”]

I do see Featureloader.js.php in my page source.

so i guess for now the thing to do it use another browser, but i’m wondering if there’s a way I can figure out why Chrome is doing this
